A songwriter whose lush, theatrical pop harked back to the traditions of Tin Pan Alley, cabaret, and even opera, Rufus Wainwright was born in 1973; Rufus is the son of folk music luminaries Loudon Wainwright III and Kate McGarrigle. When he was 14 years Wainwright was nominated for a Juno (the Canadian equivalent of a Grammy) as Most Promising Young Artist, while his "I'm a-Runnin'" was concurrently nominated for a Genie (the Canadian countepart to an Oscar) for Best Song in a Film. Since these first achievements, Wainwright’s career has constantly growed. And since then, there is ravishing sound everywhere, yet it all serves to underscore Wainwright’s own performance as commentator, confessor, leading man. On this grand scale, his brilliant, diosyncratic gifts as a songwriter and vocalist come into even greater focus. The emotions are heightened; his stories more vivid, dramatic, real, and at times very moving. His last album “Release the Stars” is as direct and personal as Wainwright initially imagined it would be. One of the national bands with most success internationally: The Pinker Tones. THE MILLION COLOUR REVOLUTION, this duo from Barcelona’s second album which, after two years of work has achieved international recognition for the group. It was released on the November 7th, 2005 in Spain and the United Kingdom, It is the first reference point for Pinkerland Records, a label formed by The Pinker Tones and Outstanding records. Since then it has been released in more than fifty countries (USA, Japan, Argentina, Mexico, Canada, Australia, Germany, UK, France, Sweden, Norway, Denmark and the Russian Federation, amongst others). To present the record in public, Professor Manso and Mister Furia came up with a live format with the invaluable help of Dj Niño: The Pinker Tones Dj Crew, in which the intensity of a rock group and the dynamic of a Dj session are experienced. The bootlegs that they create live are especially well rated. This format has taken them from Barcelona to places as diverse as London, Moscow, New York, Buenos Aires, Caracas and Beijing. Since his beginnings as a DJ in1991, Ángel Molina has played an important role in the development of electronic music in Spain, thanks to his brilliant technique , praised unanimously by critics and public, and his exceptional taste which has ensured that he is considered to be one of the finest selectors of Techno in Europe. It is not in vain that he’s one of Laurent Garnier’s favourite disc-jockeys and that he is in demand over and over again in the most prestigious festivals in Spain, France, Germany and South America for three reasons: his sense of performance with no concessions to the gallery, his versatility in playing the most diverse styles (from minimal techno to deep house, with nods to entire branches of a variety of sub-genres) and a unique and very personal sensitivity, which transcends beyond just a musical experience. Inevitably Jeff Mill’s history goes back to the beginnings of techno, to “Detroit Techno” at the beginning of the 90’s which along with the Underground Resistance, he wisely took to clubs all over the World.During the 80’s, Mills was an influential radio DJ who played on station WJLB, using the pseudonym The Wizard. His mixes were an important part of the programme The Electrifying Mojo with Charles Johnson. As time went by, Mills acquired advanced DJ skills, mixing different types of music which weren’t well known at that time. His albums and EPs are for the most part tracks he usually played in his life performances, and have made him into a legend thanks to his extraordinary skills on the decks. Talking about Jeff Mills is talking, undoubtedly, about one of the most important artists of all time in electronic music. • 1 a Conversation with Rufus Wainwright by Frank
A Conversation with Rufus Wainwright by Frank Goodman (6/2007, Puremusic.com) Rufus Wainwright has gotten so big in recent years that he needs no introduction from us. His new CD Release The Stars debuted at #2 in the UK and #10 at iTunes. He is the brother of Martha and the son of Loudon and of Canadian Folk icon Kate McGarrigle. In Wikipedia, his genres are listed as Baroque Pop and Popera. His dad in a PM interview said that Rufus began listening to opera at a very young age. No, he doesn't sing like that, but on the other hand, no one's melodies are quite or even remotely like his. Also, his string and horn arrangements (whether handled by himself or his partners in poperatic crime) are quite unto themselves, and always one of the elements that set him immediately apart from the field, the entire field. In Michael Hill's beautiful bio at rufuswainwright.com, both the author's and especially the artist's words tell the story of Rufus's first self-produced CD and connected events in a most impressive fashion. It's reassuring that in this vapid rapid time there are still real artists in popular music. Puremusic: We haven't spoken in this way since 2003, so it's really great to have you on the phone again. Rufus Wainwright: Thank you. PM: Release the Stars, another triumph. You're in top form. RW: Thank you so much. Yeah, I'm definitely going for something-- [laughter] RW: God knows what it is, but it's something.

I wear black on the outside because black is how I feel on the inside zei Morrisey en daar kan ik me tot op de dag van vandaag in vinden...
