The supporting were the - U18 2/4 March winners of the B, C and D Grade solo championships at the recent Aug 28 - Piobaireachd night - Maclean Highland Gathering. Coincidently they have all received focus on junior players teaching from Andrew Roach, who took out the A Grade gold medal as well. His tunes in Sep 10 this bracket included a Fred Morrison Air, the 6/8s Bonawe Highlanders Oct 1 and Tug Argan Gap. After a brief talk he played another air and some jigs. Next were the 2/4s Glen Caladh Castle Father John McMillan of Nov 5(Recital day) Barra Dec 3 The pipes were holding very well and only now now needed a retune after which he played the Urlar of I Got a Kiss of the King's Hand. The May meeting of the Piobaireachd was held as programmed with a couple of our regulars absent due mainly to the Competition the day before at Redlands and the Celtic celebrations at Glen Innes,

Our day commenced with a short discussion on the piping at Maclean over the Easter after which Ross Campbell tuned his pipe and player “The Park Piobaireachd No 2” to be followed by David Mariner playing firstly “Melbank’s Salute” and after a short talk about the.tune he played “ The Lament for Mary MacLeod.” After a morning tea Maurie DeHayr played “Colin MacRae of Inverinate's Lament’ He played the setting from Wm Ross’Collection (1885). This tune being included in the new addition to the Piobaireachd Society’s collection (book 16) It was now time for Ross to deliver the set tune “The Cave of Gold” said to have been a Donald Mor MacCrimmon composition (1610) which he had prepared with his usual full discussion on its construction and history. The meeting was then concluded with Ross playing the “The Cave of Gold” and giving some comments on the make up of the tune after he had finished. Our next meeting to be 4th June with Lord Lovat’s Lament being the set tune..
