Colorado LW On The Third Period: “It’s tough, no doubt. When they crank it up and they start coming, obviously going into the third with five defensemen and then early E.J. (Colorado Avalanche D Erik Johnson) goes down, they just started to put it in their last gear and got going. I thought we had some opportunities though in the third, we just weren’t able to capitalize.”

On Bouncing Back On Upcoming Road Trip: “That’s what we do. This is our job. We got to have thick skin and a short memory. That’s what we’re going to do. Rest up tonight and get back at it.”

Colorado LW Blake Comeau On Losing Two Defensemen To Injury: “It’s tough to play a game with four ‘D,’ going every second shift. With that being said, we had the game with the lead there in the third period, and obviously McDavid is a special player and he was able to score a couple.”

On Edmonton C Connor McDavid: “He’s deceptive. He’s speedy. He’s a smart player and he’s always in the right spots, so it’s frustrating. We’ve been playing well at home and to lose two defensemen and then try and play the third period like that is a tough thing. Got to ready for a bounce-back game in our next game.”

On Colorado G Semyon Varlamov’s Play: “He played outstanding for us tonight, especially in the first period. I thought they could have been up three or four, and he made some outstanding saves to keep us in the game. Right until the end of the game, he made some big saves and gave us a chance. We just weren’t able to pull it out tonight.”

Edmonton D On The Win: “It’s big, we found a way to get the win here tonight. It’s a real tough team, it presents a lot of challenges and we found a way to close it out. It was a really good game for us, a lot of guys stepped up and we just have to continue to play well.”

On Giving Up The First Goal: “I think we’ve been in that situation enough lately to know to just keep playing and that’s what we did. We just kept playing and we were resilient enough to find a way to win this game, and it is a really good feeling.”

Edmonton C On The Win: “I thought we played a good game. I think that we get paid to come and get better, and obviously it’s frustrating times right now but we came with a good effort today. I thought everyone played good and we deserved to win quite frankly, we did a lot of good things. Not an easy game on a back-to-back and at high altitude here. It’s tough to breathe out there, so good game by the guys. Things aren’t going well, but we had a good effort tonight.”

On Edmonton’s Performance: “Tonight I think it was more effort. We played the right way, we played hard, we deserved to win. Obviously it’s nice to get the outcome that’s for sure, but we have to be proud of the effort and the details in our game, that’s the more important thing.”
