Deo Cover and Sketches : Vikas S. Deo, Usha Deo 2 This book is dedicated to my wife Usha and our three sons Deepak, Vikas and Sagar. Also dedicated to the Life Energy that enables us to soak up vast amount of information and impressions from our environment to enhance our vision. Through self introspection, the information gradually condenses into wisdom that enables us to discover ourselves in the dynamics of the ever changing universe. 3 Introduction Holdall was an older version of the modern sleeping bag. Stitched out of canvas, it was commonly used in India for travel. Symbolically, Holdall is the flexible storage of personal experiences during the journey of life. It also represents a global village platform to give an all-inclusive dimension to a thought. It is not the intent of this book to prove or negate any thought, but rather to represent those thoughts that are readily understood and acceptable to everyone, irrespective of ethnic origin. It is these thoughts, when embraced by the global village, that become self enriching experiences for us all. With the opportunity to experience this ever changing and wondrous life, some thoughts progressively surface. Simply intellectualizing a thought often raises more questions.

  • Akik Nekivágtak a Világ Sötét Erdejének a Fikcionalitás Alakzatai Patti Smith Önéletrajzi Prózájában, a Kölykökben
AKIK NEKIVÁGTAK A VILÁG SÖTÉT ERDEJÉNEK A FIKCIONALITÁS ALAKZATAI PATTI SMITH ÖNÉLETRAJZI PRÓZÁJÁBAN, A KÖLYKÖKBEN TASKOVICS VIKTÓRIA „Sok történetet mesélhetnék még Robertről, kettőnkről. A mi történetünket, ahogy ő nevezte. Patti Smith: Kölykök Patti Smith (1946-) amerikai énekes, dalszerző, költő, a National Book Award-dal kitüntetett író. A ’60-as évek végén New Jerseyből New Yorkba költözött, ahol elkezdődött zenei és irodalmi pályafutása. Kihagyhatatlan szófordulata számos róla szóló írásnak ,,a punk keresztanyjaként” emlegetni Smith-t, mivel az 1975-ben megjelent Horses című debütáló albuma meghatározó szerepet játszott a ’70-es évek new yorki punk szcénájának történetében a Ramones, a Talking Heads, vagy a Blondie mellett, a Horses pedig olyan előadókra gyakorolt jelentős hatást, mint PJ Harvey, Siouxsie and the Banshees, The Slits, The Smiths. Évtizedekkel később, a ’90-es évek kezdetén SZK 22. TASKOVICS VIKTÓRIA 242 Washingtonban alakult Riot grrrrl mozgalom1 meghatározó ikonként tekintett Smith-re. A St. Mark költészeti projekt során kezdett el komolyan foglalkozni a költészettel, előadóként ilyen formában kezdte meg működését, a felolvasások keretein belül ismerkedett meg Lenny Kaye-jel, akivel a későbbiekben zenekart alapítottak.

  • Pasolini According to Patti Smith ISSN 1824-5226 D
Le Simplegadi ISSN 1824-5226 Vol. XVIII-No. 20 November 2020 DOI: 10.17456/SIMPLE-160 This work is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution 3.0 Giulio Carlo Pantalei Because the Poet: Pasolini According to Patti Smith Abstract I: The transdisciplinary dialogue, the rebellious attitude, and the sublimation of dissidence by experimenting new forms as an act of hope are the key features of the relationship between Pier Paolo Pasolini and Patti Smith, who saluted the Italian writer as one of her greatest teachers throughout her entire career, along with Blake, Rimbaud and the Beats. From the poetry of Babel to the lyrics of Easter, passing through the photographic series Pasolini es vie, the eclectic American artist has never ceased to appraise the literary works and movies of this author as a constant source of inspiration, creating a bond that became very important to the audience but was never properly explored by the critics. In terms of reception, one should not forget that this original relationship also led many (especially outside Italy) to discover the figure of Pasolini. This article seeks to investigate Patti Smith’s Pasolini and the works that influenced her most, revealing through an intertextual and interdiscursive approach how the poet contributed to shape the imaginary and spiritual vision of one among the most important lyrical voices in the world today.

The Hand of Zei L. Sprague de Camp CONTENT CHAPTER ONE CHAPTER TWO CHAPTER THREE CHAPTER FOUR CHAPTER FIVE CHAPTER SIX CHAPTER SEVEN CHAPTER EIGHT CHAPTER NINE CHAPTER TEN CHAPTER ELEVEN CHAPTER TWELVE CHAPTER THIRTEEN CHAPTER FOURTEEN CHAPTER FIFTEEN CHAPTER SIXTEEN CHAPTER SEVENTEEN CHAPTER EIGHTEEN CHAPTER ONE On a fine clear morning, the sun rose redly over the rim of theBanjaoSea .The three moons ofKrishna , which—as happens but seldom on that planet—were all in opposition to the sun at once, slipped one by one below the western horizon. The rising sun, which the Krishnans call Roqir and the Earthmen call Tau Ceti, cast its ruddy rays slantwise across a vast floating swamp. Near the northern margin of this marine morass, these rays picked out a movement. A small ship crept eastward along the ragged edge of the swamp, where the floating continent of terpahla sea vine frayed out into streamers and floating islands. A high-peaked, triangular lateen sail, barely filled by the faint dawn breeze from the north, flew from the single mast. To speed the little craft along, seven heavy-shouldered Krishnans sat in a row down each side of the deck, each man heaving on an oar. At the stern a stocky, gnarled old Krish-nan, looking like some barnacled sea monster, gripped the tiller. A pair of staring eyes were painted upon the bow; while, across the transom of the stern, a row of hooked characters gave the ship's name asShambor . Driven by its sail and its fourteen oars, theShambor forged ahead into the sunrise, now and then altering its course to dodge a patch of terpahla.
