MANX YOUTH GAMES 2018 SOUVENIR PROGRAMME NATIONAL SPORTS CENTRE SATURDAY TH 12MAY NORTH SOUTH EAST WEST 1 MESSAGE FROM HSBC HSBC is extremely proud to continue to support the Manx Youth Games in 2018. We have worked in partnership with the Manx Sport and Recreation team for many years, to see the games develop into one of the biggest annual sporting events for youngsters in the Isle of Man. The Games set out a vision for ensuring young people on the island can benefit from taking part in sports, leading to improved physical and mental well-being. The Games bring the whole community together, from young people and their parents to volunteers and coaches, who all work tirelessly to make this event happen and ensure it is a roaring success. With over 1,000 young islanders taking part in this incredible event each year, the role played by each individual involved is paramount in encouraging and influencing the future sporting stars of the Isle of Man. I would like to congratulate each and every one of our inspirational sporting participants – good luck, aim to be your best and remember, the most important thing is taking part – without you, this event simply could not happen! Well done and thank you to each and every one of you. Jaime Amoedo Country Head of Commercial Banking and Senior Manager, HSBC Isle of Man MESSAGE FROM THE MINISTER On behalf of the Department of Education, Sport and Culture, it is my very great pleasure to welcome you to the 17th Manx Youth Games at the National Sports Centre. Today the stars of the show are all the competitors who will have a day to remember and an experience that will encourage them to stay involved in sport and join a local club helping them to enjoy the benefits of regular sport! We must also remember that without the dedication and hard work of the voluntary coaches and officials who have been working tirelessly since January delivering weekly training sessions across the Island and of course their efforts today we wouldn’t have a Manx Youth Games so on behalf of Department a very big thank you! Also, another big thank you to HSBC, their continued support and commitment to the Games has helped ensure the event is the success it is today. Best of luck to all the competitors and the only thing I ask is that you all have lots of fun!
