Don't hold down both buttons together for too long - this will power off your iPad. You only need to ‘click’ the Home button, not hold it.

If the screenshot worked successfully, then you'll hear a camera shutter sound and see a white screen.

STAYING SAFE – Internet Security

The online world is an amazing place but, like the real world, there are some risks and you need to take some precautions that will keep you safe online. Here are a few tips:

Avoid viruses Keep your device healthy. Help it avoid viruses. Viruses are basically all programmes or files with one thing in common – they are out to cause trouble by gaining access to your device and attacking personal data. Your device will have a built-in firewall, that will keep some viruses out, but it is recommended that you also install antivirus software, which – if kept up to date – will usually block most other threats. You can purchase antivirus software from either a computer shop or you can download it online (sometimes for free). Passwords

Be smart and come up with strong passwords: a combination of letters (upper and lower case), numbers, and symbols. Do not make them so complicated that you can’t remember them! Never give your passwords, PIN numbers, or bank account numbers to anyone online. Never pick obvious passwords, like your user name, real name, date of birth, names of family members, etc. Criminals are becoming more and more skilled at hacking into accounts by guessing weak passwords. Login details should always be kept secure and confidential.

INVERTING COLOURS

It can also be used in combination with zoom to greatly increase legibility for anyone with a visual impairment.

Note: Some users invert screen colours as a night time reading mode allowing them to greatly reduce light and glare from a display.
