  • Studying Emergent Computation Using New General Model of Cellular Automata
International Journal of Engineering Sciences & Emerging Technologies, October 2013. ISSN: 22316604 Volume 6, Issue 2, pp: 133-141 ©IJESET CELLULAR AUTOMATA FOR ADAPTIVE WEB PORTAL STRUCTURE IN EGYPTIAN UNIVERSITIES Yasser F. Hassan Department of Mathematics & Computer Science, Faculty of Science, Alexandria University, Egypt ABSTRACT In the last few years, intelligent software applications are increased in complexity and in stakeholders' expectations, principally due to new internet-centric application areas with better performance. The modeled development process in this paper involves simulated processes of evolution, learning and self-organization. University portal provides a single point of access to university-based resources which are authorized to use. The research explores and adaptive portal website link-structure considering the website as interconnecting cells in cellular automata model browsed from the root domain. The potential of cellular automata model guides the factor adaptation and evaluated and emergent computation adequately extracts the main website profiles in terms of their internal structure. KEYWORDS- University Portal, Web Software, Cellular Automata, Adaptive, Egypt I. INTRODUCTION A university portal is a web-based gateway that provides seamless access to a variety of backend resources [1] [6]. University portal provides end-users with a customized view of software and hardware resources that specific to their particular domain. The main challenge for building university portal is to make up-to-date building information more accessible and reflect the increasing services [2]. Universities want to see a control portal that works with customers (students, staff, or visitors) to help them achieve a building portal that meets both their expectations and building standards designed for the public good.

The number of private and national universities in Egypt reached 23 universities in June 2019 (Information and Decision Support Center System, 2020a), the research sample consists of 17 universities websites randomly selected (approximately 74 %). The research findings revealed moderated fluctuated modifications in identified keywords usages in the examined universities' websites. In most of the examined universities websites, the updates were dated recently; that reflect their interest in being responsive toward the COVID –19 crisis, and developing plans for managing and mitigating the crisis impact. All of the 14 identified keywords were exist in examined universities websites with noted variances in their number of presences and its occurrences/frequencies. The found keywords were rated based on presences on the investigated universities websites, moreover, they ranked based on their occurrences/frequencies of presences. The investigated universities' websites were graded based on presence keywords to the total number of identified keywords (ratio), and the frequencies of all existing keywords on the university website. Key words: COVID-19 Crisis, Website Content, Content Analysis Approaches, Private and National Universities, Universities Websites in Egypt 1 Received in 17/8/2020, accepted in 12/10/2020.

  • Pharmacoeconomic Education in Egyptian Schools of Pharmacy Ahmed M
American Journal of Pharmaceutical Education 2013; 77 (3) Article 57. RESEARCH Pharmacoeconomic Education in Egyptian Schools of Pharmacy Ahmed M. Soliman, MS, BSPharm,a Mustafa Hussein, MS, BSPharm,b and Abdulla M. Abdulhalim, BSPharmc aThe University of Minnesota College of Pharmacy, Minneapolis, Minnesota bThe University of Tennessee College of Pharmacy, Memphis, Tennessee cThe University of Maryland School of Pharmacy, Baltimore, Maryland Submitted September 5, 2012; accepted October 28, 2012; published April 12, 2013. Objective. To investigate the status of pharmacoeconomics education in Egyptian schools of pharmacy and compile and construct recommendations on how Egypt and similar countries could improve their educational infrastructure in pharmacoeconomics. Methods. A modified version of a published survey instrument was sent to all schools of pharmacy in Egypt (n5 24). The data were assessed to identify associations between offering pharmacoeconomics education and school characteristics. Results. Usable responses were obtained from 20 schools (response rate: 83%). Only 7 schools offered pharmacoeconomics education, with a median of 20 teaching hours per semester. Among respondents, 4 schools had instructors with some training in pharmacoeconomics and only 1 school had a faculty member with PhD-level training. Only 4 schools offered graduate-level courses in pharmacoeconom- ics. Eight additional schools expressed interest in teaching pharmacoeconomics in the near future. Having 1 or more faculty members with training in pharmacoeconomics was significantly associated with offering pharmacoeconomics education (p 5 0.03). Conclusions. Pharmacoeconomics education in Egypt is still in its infancy and there exists a unique opportunity for well-trained instructors and researchers to fill this gap. Providing structured phar- macoeconomics education to student pharmacists, researchers, and stakeholders can help countries establish an integrated scientific community that can start applying pharmacoeconomic evidence to healthcare decision-making.
