Initiated an international cooperation with University of Management Kiev in Ukraine. HELWAN UNIVERSITY—Cairo, Egypt July 1995 – till present Professor, Faculty of Pharmacy (Oct 07 – till present). Responsible of teaching, researching 6 publications in national (1) and international (5) journals, and supervising master and Ph.D students. This period included the occupations of the following positions: Head of Pharmacognosy department (Nov 13 – July 31) – Lead members of staff to deliver faculty strategic objectives o Participated in faculty of pharmacy accreditation by NAQAA . o Lead 20 members of academic and administrative staff, through Pharmacognsy council, to deliver a robust education system to about 1000 students every semester. Vice Dean of Post Graduates and Research (Oct 10 – Oct 13). Managed all issues related to the research and graduate studies affairs. o Advised, promoted, and supported on various graduate programs and research initiatives within the faculty, o Facilitated access to biographies of all faculty members of staff through the creation of an IT data base . o Converted the postgraduate bylaw to credit hours which is more advanced and used by most international universities (pending approval of USC). o Co-operated with the German university HS Fresenius to deliver two new master degrees, sponsored by DAAD. o Collaborated with the DAAD to share international expertise with faculty staff in both teaching and research whereby a robust relationship was developed . o Presented a scientific paper in the 2nd ANDI Stakeholders Meeting of the African Network for Drugs and Diagnostics – Nigeria 2010 Director of Projects Management Unit (Oct 09 – July 31). Managed the Project Management Unit to bring international and national projects to Helwan university and its faculties; FP7 projects, Tempus projects, STDF, CIQAP and other competition projects. o Prepared, and submitted a proposal for a joint workshop, between Helwan Univsersity and HS Fresenius University, to establish a joint master programs in Pharmacoeconomics and Bio & Pharmaceutical analysis. The workshop will start Nov 2014 in Germany. o Investigated the possibility of international cooperation with HS Fresenius and Marburg Universities through effective participation in “Fact Finding Mission” of the DAAD in Germany (May 13). o Established, and followed up both projects and strategic plans with each faculty which raised around EGP 70 M funds from the Projects Management Unit of the Ministry of Higher Education in four years. o Supported professors to raise around EGP 10 M funds from the Academy of Scientific Research. o Established a Diploma, between Helwan University and UNICEF, on Research and Evaluation for Evidence-Based Public Policies – 2010/2011. o Equipped and furnished the International Center of Education Management (ICEM) of Helwan University. 2 Soad Abd El-Khalik +2 0100 166 2713• [email protected] o Obtained cooperation protocol with Italicementi; worth EGP 300 K, to train and develop the skills of faculty of engineering students- 2012. o Participated in the preparation of the 2010 – 2014 strategic plan of Helwan University. o Participated in the evaluation committee of National Authority for Quality Assurance and Accreditation (NAQAA) to accredite faculty of pharmacy - MSA University in February 2014. o Participated in several meetings and workshops for the awareness and developing quality assurance system at the Egyptian Universities. o Participated in the evaluation committee by NAQAA in Egypt for faculty of pharmacy –Ahram Canadian University in2010 and faculty of pharmacy -Ain Shams University in 2009. o Participated in the evaluation committee, Monitor and Evaluate New Programs Project (MENPP), for the clinical pharmacy program of 2 faculties of pharmacy (Menia University and Suez Canal University) - 2008, 2009 and 2010. o Participated in the evaluation committee of the Continuous Improvement and Quality Assurance Project (CIQAP), Ministry of Higher Education for Faculty of Pharmacy –Suez Canal University and Zagazeg University - 2010. o Attended the "Approach of Quality Assurance in Higher Education" workshop in Amman, Jordan, organized in cooperation between Association of Arab Universities and British Council. o Attended the Management of Education workshops at Ludgwisburg - University Germany, 2010. o Organized a quality conference with the project management unit of the Ministry of Higher Education at Helwan University for all Egyptian Universities in 2009 o Attended the Intercultural Learning/Management programme at Bochum University, February 2009. o Participated in the National Reference Academic standards of Pharmacy Education Committee by The National Authority for Quality Assurance and Accreditation of Education in Egypt since 2008. Director for Sekem R&D lab - As part time (Nov 08 – Jun 09). Lead the research team at Sekem lab for R&D to develop pharmaceutical drugs from natural sources. Head of Pharmacognosy department (Oct 09 – Nov 10). Collaborated with faculty teaching staff to collegially define and develop the course content and curriculum, for the courses offered by the department to align with minimum recommended standards by NAQAA. o Lead the department’s work on quality standards in teaching and scientific research through providing necessary resources to members of staff. Advisor to the Minister of Higher Education (Aug 09 – July 15). Report (semi-annually) the human and financial resources, and the academic processes in El Nahda and Future universities to the Minister of Higher Education. o Advise on the legality of the different processes in terms of students, and teaching staff. o Propose solutions, and procedures to university councils that help maintain, and develop the educational system.
