Limousine Liberal –Trainer Ben Colebrook will send out two in this year's Breeders' Cup – veteran Limousine Liberal (Jose Ortiz) drew post eight of nine in the $2 million TwinSpires Sprint, while freshman Knicks Go (Albin Jimenez) will leave from post 10 in a 14-horse field in the $2 million Sentient Jet Juvenile (G1). “Everything is good with the draw,” Colebrook said. “No wor- ries there. Both are good draws. As long as we're in the starting gate, we're in the right place.” Seven-year-old Limousine Liberal heads into the Sprint with earnings exceeding $1.7 million, and nine wins from 25 starts. He was fifth, placed fourth, in the 2016 edition of the Sprint. He jogged Tuesday and was scheduled to gallop at Keeneland Wednesday before boarding a van for Louisville. Promises Fulfilled – The 3-year-old son of Shackleford returned to the track on Tuesday after breezing four furlongs on Sunday in :48 2/5 as he advances toward the Breeders’ Cup Sprint. “He came out of his work great and went out there and trained good today,” trainer Dale Romans said. Promises Fulfilled is seeking his fourth consecutive graded- stakes victory. He most recently won the Stoll Keenon Phoenix Stakes (G2) at Keeneland Oct. 5 Breeder David Jacobs’ connection to Promises Fulfilled’s fam- ily traces to 1991 when he purchased his great grand dam, Copelan’s Girl. Jacobs has three broodmares including Promises Fulfilled’s dam Marquee Delivery. She has an unusual distinction of coincidentally being the dam of Marquee Miss and Marquee Cal Gal who were first and second in the 2017 Holiday Inaugural Stakes at Turfway Park. Whitmore – The multiple stakes winning sprinter jogged one mile and galloped another mile under Laura Moquett, wife and assistant of trainer Ron Moquett. “He’s happy, so I’m happy,” Moquett said. “We’ll just do light stuff the rest of week to keep him happy. And, he’ll stand in the gate later this week just to remind him.” Whitmore drew post position one Monday and Moquett was fine with that. “It’s where he likes to be,” he said. “If you look at his races, he likes to be on the inside and always seems to find the rail.” Breeders’ Cup Classic Axelrod – Tuesday morning brought a jogging assignment for trainer Michael McCarthy’s Classic prospect, with exercise rider Nikki Diodoro taking him once around Churchill Downs’ mile oval. Discreet Lover – Owner-trainer Uriah St. Lewis and the 5- year-old Florida-bred Discreet Lover both got their first taste of the Churchill Downs training routine Tuesday. FLORIDA The Sunshine State acquired its most expensive stallion in a long while when Stonewall Farm, which developed Medaglia d=Oro, closed up shop in Kentucky and moved its whole operation, including Leroidesanimaux (Candy Stripes), to Ocala. =Leroi,= as he seems to be universally known, won eight in a row under Bobby Frankel=s care in 2004-05, including three Grade I=s at a mile and 1 1/16m, before his string was snapped by Artie Schiller in the GI Breeders= Cup Mile. He ran Beyers of 111-112-111-112-109-115 during his run--very high for a grass horse--and he sired 2011 GI Kentucky Derby winner Animal Kingdom (what a score for that canny Arrowfield team) in his second crop. By Blushing Groom=s son Candy Stripes out of an Ahonoora half-sister to Hasili, dam of Dansili, he=s got a very appealing pedigree also. He=s listed for $25,000 for 2013, the highest for any North American sire outside Kentucky.

  • BROODMARE ANALYSIS REPORT a Broodmare’S Nicking Analysis with up to 50 Potential Stallions
COMPILED SPECIFICALLY FOR Tempo BROODMARE ANALYSIS REPORT A broodmare’s nicking analysis with up to 50 potential stallions Copyright © 2011 The Jockey Club Information Systems, Inc. BROODMARE ANALYSIS REPORT TrueNicks: An Explanation Nicks in History Compatibilities between stallions from one sire line with mares of another sire line has helped shape the breed since the Eclipse/Herod cross of the late 18th century. These successful crosses, called nicks, have impacted Thoroughbred development through such examples as Hermit/Stockwell, Lexington/Glencoe, Bend Or/Macaroni, and Phalaris/Chaucer. In the modern era, the prolific Mr. Prospector/Northern Dancer cross has produced outstanding racehorses and sires such as Kingmambo, Distorted Humor, and Elusive Quality. Fast-Forward to the 21st Century Computer databases have made it possible to measure and rate nicks, giving rise to a commercial market for such statistics. The first nick ratings offered to the public, though popular, were compromised by incomplete data and yielded results based on hypothetical rather than actual opportunity. This statistical gap was the impetus behind the development of TrueNicks. A Statistically Valid Approach Unlike other ratings that are calculated based on hypothetical opportunity within a limited group of horses, TrueNicks references the international database of The Jockey Club—the world’s most complete record of Thoroughbreds and their performance—to produce a sophisticated rating based on all starters and stakes winners on a given cross. The Statistics The TrueNicks rating is derived from two statistical elements: the Sire Improvement Index (SII) and the Broodmare Sire Improvement Index (BSII). Each figure compares the percentage of progeny stakes winners to starters.

TUESDAY, OCTOBER 29, 2019 BAFFERT HOPING EIGHT IS VERACITY BRINGS PROVEN TRACK RECORD TO FASIG NOVEMBER By Bill Finley GREAT FOR MCKINZIE IN When attacking the fall mixed sales, the key to future success lies in the ability to properly measure risk versus reward. That=s BREEDERS= CUP CLASSIC 36 why the eight-year-old mare Veracity (Distorted Humor), in foal to Justify, figures to bring a healthy sum at the Fasig-Tipton November Night of the Stars Nov. 5. The risk is minimal and the rewards are all but guaranteed. Veracity has had two foals that have been put up for auction, both fillies by Medaglia d=Oro. This year, her yearling sold for $900,000 at the Saratoga Sale and was purchased by Claiborne Farm. In 2018, Lael Stable spent $1 million on her first yearling, also purchased at Saratoga. AHer family is very active now,@ said consignor Shack Parrish, the president of Indian Creek. AFor her first two foals to sell for what they did speaks volumes. She=s in foal to Justify, her family is very alive and her first two foals sold for what they did.
