The influence of Saturn is more likely to degrade human minds. To prevent this, these homas will be done for 5 days for Gurubalam. Jupiter, Saturn, both together in Capricorn will cause more atheism in the world this year. Most difficulties will be reduced if there is Gurubalam (strength of Jupiter). For example: uterine diseases for women, severe financial distress, panic attacks will continue for many crores of people until Feb 15th next year. "Uttare, Pratyuttarechaiva" - who does what with his hands; It means that we will experience the karma we have done. " Yat karma tat phalat”. The Jupiter (guru), therefore, is the one who has the power to alleviate these severely afflicting karmas, for the compassion of Guru in the form of Paramahamsa, on this day “Hamsa Vahanam Seva”- with glorious decorations will take place. 60 years ago, i.e. 1961, similar conjunction of Saturn and Jupiter was seen in Capricorn. Then came the cholera and caused a lot of deaths. To stop everything seriously, Sri Karunamayi Amma has been taking only 1 glass of juice for the last 50 days and is continuing this initiation. This initiation will be ended after Guru Purnima; Sri Arunachaleshwara Swami who receives Hamsa Vahanam Seva on this day, special puja is performed with the names of Rudra Trishati with good pearls. • Folk Hinduism in West Bengal
1 Folk Hinduism in West Bengal In the rural areas of India, we see a variety of notions about the nature of gods and goddesses. They are not “high gods,” as we see in the pan-Indian brahmanical forms of Hinduism, but rather regional deities, intimately associated with villages and towns. Indeed, some would not be characterized as gods and goddesses by most people, for those supernatural entities given offerings and worship include ghosts, ancestors, water and plant essences, guardian spirits, and disease con- trollers. We see some overlap of tribal deities, the deities of non-Hindu or semi- Hindu villagers, with the village gods or gramadevatas of village Hinduism. These may be µeld or mountain spirits, or angry ghosts of women who died violent deaths. All of these may be seen in the large area of folk Hinduism. There is no sharp differentiation between the tribal deities, village deities, and gods and god- desses of brahmanical Hinduism. Rather than a polarity, we see a continuum, for these traditions worship many deities in common. Some themes that may be noted in the worship of folk gods and goddesses: Regionalism: These deities are associated with speciµc places, temples, µelds, and streams. The Kali of one village is not the same as the next village’s Kali. One Chandi gives good hunting, another Chandi cures disease. Goddesses are not pan-Indian; they are speciµc to a person’s tribal or caste group, ex- tended family, neighborhood, or village. Pragmatism: These deities are rarely worshiped in a spirit of pure and ab- stract devotion.

Guide to 275 SIVA STHALAMS Glorified by Thevaram Hymns (Pathigams) of Nayanmars -****- by Tamarapu Sampath Kumaran About the Author: Mr T Sampath Kumaran is a freelance writer. He was associated in the production of two Documentary films on Nava Tirupathi Temples, and Tirukkurungudi Temple in Tamilnadu. His book on “The Path of Ramanuja”, and “The Guide to 108 Divya Desams” in book form on the CD, has been well received in the religious circle. Preface: Tirth Yatras or pilgrimages have been an integral part of Hinduism. Pilgrimages are considered quite important by the ritualistic followers of Sanathana dharma. There are a few centers of sacredness, which are held at high esteem by the ardent devotees who dream to travel and worship God in these holy places. All these holy sites have some mythological significance attached to them. When people go to a temple, they say they go for Darsan – of the image of the presiding deity. The pinnacle act of Hindu worship is to stand in the presence of the deity and to look upon the image so as to see and be seen by the deity and to gain the blessings. There are thousands of Siva sthalams- pilgrimage sites - renowned for their divine images. And it is for the Darsan of these divine images as well the pilgrimage places themselves - which are believed to be the natural places where Gods have dwelled - the pilgrimage is made.

Lord Shiva as Brahma vidya guru is called dakṣiṇāmurti, and in वैष्णव स륍रदार्ः vaiṣṇava sampradāyaḥ, there is a deity हर्ग्रीवः hayagrīvaḥ and this hayagrīvaḥ also is looked upon as brahma vidya guru, as an aspect of Lord Vishnu. Thus dakṣiṇāmurti as an aspect of Lord Shiva and Hayagrīvaḥ as an aspect of ववष्णुः viṣṇuḥ; both are Brahma vidya gurus. And there is another name for Lord dakṣiṇāmurti as Brahma vidya guru, and that name is sadāśiva. And that is why we have these two popular verses, sadāśiva samārambhām śankarācāryamadyamām asmad ācarya paryantām vande guru paramparām. sadāśiva samārambhām means the dakṣiṇāmurti samarambha. dakṣiṇāmurti, which originated as the adi guru, and a parampara in which Lord Adi Sankaracharya has a very important role, śankarācāryamadyamām.

  • Karthika Month Is the Most Sacred Month to Worship Lord Mahadeva
Karthika month is the most sacred month to worship Lord Mahadeva In the month of Karthika both Lord Mahadeva and Lord Vishnu are worshipped together, as it’s the month of Sriharahari. Shlokam || Mahimnah param te parama vidusho yadyasadrishi || Pushpadantacharya praised Sri Mahadeva…. as follows, O Mahadeva! your glory is infinite. If it is unseemly to praise You when ignorant of the extent of’ Your greatness, then even the praises of Brahma and others are inadequate. Sri Mahadev in his most delightful form. The sages, the enlightened, the Siddha men, who are rich in tapahsiddhi, stand before Lord Shankara with a very humble sense of humility. For the devotee- humility is the main thing. Without it, no matter how much is done, can grace be obtained so quickly? With the sight of the eye, in front of the Mahayoga Yogi who burnt Manmadha. O Mind! what is your capacity? Mind let go of the ego and worship Mahadeva. What would it be like to bathe in seawater and interpret the ocean with those seawater? O Mahadeva! form of Shiva Shakti, I humbly ask you to give me the fortune to worship you with the flowers of words you have given me. The Brahma Deva say to the Sri Mahadeva, "Hey! Mahadeva, according to my little intellect, I praise you, the Infinite One." God, that goddess has done great penance for you and has impressed you and become your consort. What is my devotion to you who have seen such great penances? It seems to give bitter water to the mouth that drinks honey, my prayer, my devotion, Deva, Mahadeva, forgive us.
