While each are holding the other’s life in their hands, the two wild spirits remain connected like Tom Hill islands in the stream as their exciting trapeze adventures continue. With a diverse background in visual and performing arts, Tom incorporates it all into his sideshow, escapes, and circus routines. Tom has performed with Eka Boo Button various circus groups and theater companies throughout the Midwest and East coast. Tom received his BA in Art, Communication, and Theater from Eka.Boo.Button is a playful spirit who delights in the creative and bizarre Monmouth College. Tom is currently producing a show titled: The Carnival and has been enraptured with aerial arts since 2006. Eka can often be found of Curiosity & Chaos to premier in June 2011. enchanting an audience with her peculiarly embodied characters, quirky sense of style and kinetic dynamism. Students ​ are asked to commit to the entire year. The program is open to students ages 7–18 ​ (exceptions for skilled younger students may be made). Our Pre- Professional Youth Program has three levels: Rising Stars, Super Novas, and the San Francisco Youth Circus. For those students who want it and work for it, Circus Center’s Pre-Professional Youth Program has a long history of preparing young people for elite training and careers in the circus. Even for students who do not pursue a career in the circus, the exposure to high-level training builds discipline, commitment, and confidence that will serve them well in any path they choose. Super Novas (ages 9-16) – Students deepen their circus training when they advance to ​ Super Novas. They continue to develop their strength, flexibility, and coordination while advancing their circus skills. Super Novas focus on two specialties throughout the year which are chosen by the students with coach approval. All Super Novas continue to train tumbling, group acrobatics, and juggling as well. During the week of February 4, hip hop dancer and choreographer Bosco will be returning for the second year to choreograph the Teeterboard 0200 spring show performance along with a fun scene for this summer's upcoming production. Also arriving that week will be flying trapeze expert Rob Dawson, who will attend all flying trapeze classes along with holding workshops the following week. Finally, during our session break in February, ESAC Brussels instructor Roman Fedin will be here running Hoops, Mexican Cloud Swing, Silks, Static, Swinging Trapeze, Triple Trapeze, and Spanish Web workshops for our intermediate-advanced level students.     Trapeze in the Circus Warehouse! Ever thought of trying out trapeze classes? Well now you definitely can at the Circus Warehouse located in Long Island City Queens. Founded in September of 2010, Circus Warehouse not only works on producing the next generation of circus performers, but also focuses on training non- pro circus enthusiasts. Static Trapeze Static Trapeze is a type of circus art performed on the trapeze bar. Unlike flying trapeze, on static trapeze the bars and ropes mainly stay in place. Most often, the static trapeze is about 1.5 feet wide and the bar is generally 2 inches in diameter. While taking a static trapeze class, you will learn to use the bar and ropes to pose, invert, balance and drop into thrilling positions. But before you get into the exciting part, there is a 30 minute workout session in order to get loosen up and get the blood flowing. After growing comfortable with solo work, you can also learn to work in pairs and teams to build shapes in the air, turning them inside out and upside down in poses that highlight both strength and flexibility. Class Prices If you are dropping in to take a single class, it will cost $65. However, you can purchase class cards depending on how many classes you are looking to take, and that also includes unlimited workout time during regular Warehouse hours until the card expires.
