CIRCUS CLASSES PREREQUISITE EVALUATIONS

Prior to enrolling in a few of our beginning classes, and all of our intermediate and advanced circus classes, each student must undergo an evaluation by the trainer(s) to test the participant’s eligibility for each class. Participants, with or without previous experience, must attend this evaluation prior to registering for this class.

All Act Participants - Your evaluations will be carefully reviewed by the Circus Director & Head Trainers of these classes PRIOR to you being informed of what class to register for. This is to make sure that you are enrolled in the most appropriate class based on your safety, skill, strength and maturity. Results of the evaluations will be emailed to you after all class evaluations are complete. Registration will not take place until all of your evaluations have been completed for each of your children.

FIRST WAVE of Registration is open from August 23 – 27 If you were ACCEPTED into an act, this will be the week to claim your spot in your act! After August 27th, the waitlisted people will be allowed to register into the remaining spots and your accepted ‘spot’ will not be guaranteed after the 27th. Non-Evaluation acts will also be open for registration during this time period. WAITLIST Registration will open on August 30th If you were WAITLISTED for an evaluated act - starting august 30th, if there are still open spots in that act, you can register into the remaining openings if you are on the waitlist for that specific act. Non-Evaluation acts will also be open for registration during this time period. Prerequisite Evaluation Schedule Evaluations will be held from 5:00pm-7:00pm each day  Monday, August 16th – Intermediate Flex, Advanced Acro & Advanced Risley

 Tuesday, August 17th – Intermediate & Advanced Diabolo, Multilane Cradle, Elite Handbalancing, Swinging Ladders, Multiple Trapeze, Beg/Int Teeterboard, Chinese Pole and Intermediate Risley

 Wednesday, August 18th – Beginning Handbalancing, Intermediate Acro, Advanced Teeterboard and Intermediate & Advanced Juggling.

 Thursday, August 19th – Static Trapeze, Beginning Acro, Intermediate Hammock, Duo Cradle, Beginning Risley, Beginning Teardrop, Intermediate Lyra, Intermediate Unicycle, Advanced Silks, Beginning Sync. Trapeze and Intermediate Stilts.

*Circus classes that do not require evaluations prior to registering: Beginning Unicycle, Circus Essentials, Beginning Wire, Beginning Juggling, Mini Acro 1 & 2, and Balloon Art. At the prerequisite evaluations, each participant will be given the opportunity to perform these skills to the best of their ability, and will be given a score by the Head Trainer. Circus participants will be placed into the most appropriate classes according to their strength, experience, skill development, and maturity. All of our Circus classes have established class size maximums for safety reasons.

If a class reaches its maximum capacity, your name will go onto the roster waiting list. If a space opens up in a class that has a waiting list, we will offer the open space to the first person on the list. Please do not call the YMCA to inquire of your Wait List status; please email the Circus Director for that inquiry.

You will be able to register for classes until September 30th unless these classes have reached their maximum capacity prior to that deadline.
