Doctor of Civil Lay and Doctor of Public Law University of Havana 1927 1928. Posts and experience Entered the judiciary in October 1933. Held various posts as a lîunicipal Judge until 19^+7 when he was a successful candidate for the office of Judge of the Court of Appeals of Las Villas, I9U7. Was a successful candidate for the office of Judge of the Court of Appeals of Havana, 1950. Appointed to the Civil and Administrative Division. Was promoted on merit to the post of President of the Division, 1957- In June 195B he was removed from office for protesting in the Supreme Court against the crimes of the tyrannical régime of Fulgencio Batista in Cuba. When the Revolution was victorious on 1 January 1959, he was appointed Judge of the Division of Constitutional and Social Guarantees of the Supreme Court of Justice., a post which he still holds. In I960 he was appointed Professor of Constitutional Law and of Comparative Government at the School of Political Science of the Universitv of Havana. Permanent delegate of Cuba to the United dations, I96U-I965. Member of the Cuban delegation to the United Nations General Assembly in I967, 1968, 1969, 1970, 19713 1972. At those sessions, he represented his country on the Sixth Committee.
