In 1993 she initiated and co-developed the ongoing ARTISTS IN OUR MIDST, an open studios event, encompassing over 70 artists on the West side of Vancouver, which inspired other similar events around Vancouver. The Trials of Eve, a major work of 12 mixed media drawings and 12 poems, now in the collection of the Glenbow Museum in Calgary, Alberta, was published as an Alcuin Citation Award limited edition book and later as a softcover. The book has been acquired by numerous Special Collections of Universities, Art Galleries and libraries as well as by private collectors. A film by the same title was first shown at the FIFA in Paris, on Bravo!TV, on Knowledge Network and other venues. The 12 drawings, books and film are now in the permanent collection of the Glenbow Museum, Calgary, Alberta. 1 PNINA GRANIRER; Portrait of an Artist, by Ted Lindberg was published in 1998 by Ronsdale Press in conjunction with a 40 Yrs. Retrospective at the Richmond Art Gallery, Richmond, BC. A film by the same name was aired on BRAVO! on January 2005. She is featured on her own website, www.pninagranirer.com, and on other sites such as www.culturefrancophone.ca, www.ccca.ca and many others. She has exhibited locally, nationally and internationally and has works in numerous private collections in Canada, the US, Europe and Israel, as well as public ones such as the Glenbow Museum, Calgary, Alberta, the Art Gallery of Greater Victoria and the Two Rivers Gallery, Prince George, British Columbia, the Hamilton Art Gallery, Ontario, the Fundacion Museo Eugenio Granell, Santiago de Compostela, Spain, the Yad Vashem Museum, Jerusalem, Israel, and many more. In 2014 the artist was included in the encyclopedia of International Surrealism by Arturo Schwarz, Il Surrealismo — Ierie Oggi (Italy) and in a 5-page chapter of José Miguel Pérez Corrales’s Anthology, Surrealismo: El Oro del Tiempo (Spain). Granirer’s work has always reflected her personal experience. Working in series, allowing an idea to grow and develop. Her interest lies in unifying shape with content and she works in mixed media. Granirer’s memoir, LIGHT WITHIN THE SHADOWS; a Painter’s Memoir, was published in May 2017. Included in this report is a summary of major upcoming office developments, and a review of taxes and operating costs for buildings in downtown Vancouver. Suburban Q4 2017: 11.7% Q1 has certainly been interesting politically. While our neighbours to the south introduced Q1 2018: 10.4% more favourable tax policies for business, our Federal and Provincial Governments have elected to move in the opposite direction. On February 27th, the Federal Government announced plans to move from a balanced budget to a $18.1 billion deficit, eclipsing -11.1% campaign promises to run at a $10 billion deficit. While a revised tax policy has been introduced to pay for it, most critics noted the lack of a timeline to return to a balanced budget, reflecting poorly on the Liberals promise to re-balance by 2019.
