The students in the art department held a glass sale last week to give students a chance to purchase their peerʼs handy work “just in time for Motherʼs Day,” according to their website.

A portion of the proceeds of this event went to the Turn- ing Point domestic abuse shelter to help provide for the different needs of the women that are supported by the local womenʼs shelter.

The other portions of the proceeds went to help fund the departmentʼs upcoming programs. This includes speak- ers and future conferences for the students to attend.

EDITORIALS Students encouraged to make the most of summer alongside UW-River Falls First and foremost, Congratulations to the UW- River Falls graduates of spring semester 2012! We hope that you have enjoyed your time here at UWRF and have grown academically as well as individually. With the end of the academic year in sight, many students’ minds are fi lled with thoughts of summer. Even though the school year has been arduous and stressful, students should still strive to fi nish out the school year strong. Summer vacation will be much more gratifying after practicing diligent studying during fi nals week. No matter if you are a fi rst-year student or soon- to-be graduate, we here at the Student Voice urge you to have a plan. Set reasonable goals for your- self and accomplish! Not only are internships and jobs important for students to have during the summer months for fi nancial reasons, but also are crucial for resumes. Additionally, volunteer opportunities are sig- nifi cant to development, as they add to personal David Recine/Student Voice character and humility and allow for individuals to obtain a better perspective of the world.
