WWW.OUTWITHFESTIVAL.CO.UK DUNFERMLINE’S FESTIVAL OF NEW TALENT WELCOME TO DUNFERMLINE’S OUTWITH FESTIVAL 2019 After the success of the Festival over the last two years, the 2019 programme has grown again. We’ve added another day with the festival kicking off on Tuesday 3 September and running until Sunday 8 September. Headliners Idlewild are joining us for the live music day on Saturday, there’s some cool movies at our pop up Dunfermline Filmhouse and there’s a great line up of theatre, art and literature. It’s just a wee walk between venues - the whole festival is in Dunfy town centre. Fair braw, tell your Maw! Our festival of new talent has exceptional local writers and performers appearing beside national and international names. SEE YOU IN SEPTEMBER! TUES 3 8pm – Comedy / Steven Dick Cafe Wynd Free Join Steven Dick, award winning SEPT 9.30pm Theatre Comedy Writing 16+ comedy writer, originally from Workshop Dunfermline, for a hands on workshop uncovering the craft of the professional comedy writer. Suitable for writers, stand-ups, playwrights or anyone who wants to learn more about the techniques used by comedy professionals. Stephen worked on Have I Got News For You, Frankie Boyle’s New World Order and Live at the Apollo. Preview party with live music is at 6pm on Thursday 5 September - all welcome. The exhibition is then open from 6pm-9pm on Friday 6 September and 1pm-6pm on Saturday 7 September. The full line-up will be announced via social media. Previous line-ups included Scottish comedian of the year finalists Ross Leslie and Stuart McPherson. THURS 7pm – Storytelling Stories o’ Fife La Menta £7.50 Glamourie are two traditional 5 SEPT 9pm and Beyond 14+ storytellers, and a harp, telling traditional tales woven with Scots, Gaelic and a wee bit magic. THUR 5 7.30pm Art Calum Colvin: Andrew Free Calum Colvin (born Glasgow, SEPT Behind the Carnegie 18+ 1961) is a Scottish artist whose Layers Birth Place work combines photography, Museum painting and installation. Colvin will talk about some of his favourite works and unravel the meanings behind them. He will also touch upon his project at the Andrew Carnegie Birthplace Museum. THUR 5 7.30pm Theatre Jennie Lee: Monarch £3.00 Knights Theatre presents a SEPT – 9pm Tomorrow is a Bar, Upstairs 16+ work-in-progress rehearsed New Day (Work reading of a new play Tomorrow in Progress Is a New Day by Matthew Reading) Knights which will explore the personal and political life of famous Fifer, Jennie Lee. THUR 5 8.15pm Film Amazing Grace DCL&G £5 Electrifying concert film directed SEPT All Ages by Sydney Pollack featuring a 29 year old Aretha Franklin recording her live gospel album at a Baptist Church in Los Angeles. Franklin’s family decided to release the previously unseen film after the singer’s death. OutwithFestival @outwithfestival 7 FRIDAY FRI 6 10am Film Last Breath DCL&G £5 In 2012, diver Chris Lemons lay SEPT 12 trapped under the North Sea, his umbilical cable completely severed, leaving him without breathing gas. Docu-drama Last Breath recreates his story in this heart-stopping, nail-biting drama.
