His goal was to “keep his two crews busy” during the summer wildfire season as fire crews were on stand-by, ready to respond to calls for firefighters and suppression equipment in the region. The grant from the National Fire Plan (USDA Forest Service) targeted Camp Wooten in Columbia County and Field Springs State Park in Asotin County.
