Taylor Swift, Justin Bieber, Carly Rae Jepsen Och One Direction Vinnare Vid Årets Mtv Ema-Gala 2012 TAYLOR SWIFT, JUSTIN BIEBER, CARLY RAE JEPSEN OCH ONE DIRECTION VINNARE VID ÅRETS MTV EMA-GALA 2012. HEIDI KLUM LYSANDE SOM VÄRD VID ÅRETS MTV EMA-GALA 2012. FRANKFURT, GERMANY – 11 November 2012 – Taylor Swift scored three awards at the “2012 MTV EMA” in her EMA debut, and Justin Bieber also won three, continuing his dominance at the world’s biggest music event. Hosted by hometown girl Heidi Klum, MTV’s 19th annual EMA, held Sunday, November 11th in Frankfurt, Germany, was a beautiful, jaw-dropping spectacle, filled with aerialists, pyrotechnics, lasers, elaborate light shows, and incredible choreography, delivering on what Klum had promised would be a magical night. Klum was charming and entertaining as always – and proved to be a great sport from the first minute of the show. She kicked off the evening with a tumble down a toilet bowl (emerging into the surreal circus wonderland that was the show’s theme/setting), did a hysterical dance duet with Psy, and took hosting to new heights – literally – by spinning in an hoop high above the audience. Swift had a busy evening in Frankfurt, taking home three awards for Best Female, Best Live, and the brand new category Best Look, and performing “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together” in the show’s phenomenal finale that saw the whole circus wonderland come to life. Bieber earned Best World Stage, along with repeat wins for Best Pop and Best Male. Carly Rae Jepsen also had a successful EMA debut, winning Best PUSH and Best Song for “Call Me Maybe,” and inspiring a fan invasion during the performance of her chart-topping hit. Tying Jepsen at two awards was British boy band One Direction, who earned Best New as well as Biggest Fans, thanks to its loyal following of Directioners. The popularity of Korean pop sensation Psy’s “Gangnam Style” knows no limits, as he took home the award for “Best Video” – now officially the most popular video in history. In his first international awards show performance, Psy’s bold performance was full of swagger, thanks to the army of Psy lookalikes/dancers that joined him on stage and a special cameo by David “The Hoff” Hasselhoff. In the second year of Best Worldwide Act, Chinese artist Han Geng brought the win home again for the Asia Pacific region, following in the footsteps of last year’s winner BIGBANG. The late Whitney Houston was named Global Icon, honored for her significant impact on the world of pop music; her award was presented by Alicia Keys. EMA nominee and MTV PUSH act Rita Ora kicked off the evening’s festivities descending from the rafters in a giant bird cage for a performance of “R.I.P.,” while fellow nominee and PUSH artist fun. had the arena rocking out to the anthemic “We Are Young.” Alicia Keys was truly a “Girl on Fire,” singing her hit song surrounded by breathtaking aerialists. Pitbull brought his sexy signature style to Frankfurt, surrounded by dancers with mirror balls and mesmerizing pixie poi as the audience danced to his latest track “Don’t Stop the Party.” The Killers wowed the crowd with a performance of “Runaways” amidst an impressive, eye-popping lighting spectacle, and Muse’s performance of “Madness” was amplified by a dynamic, innovative laser show. After nearly a decade away from the scene, No Doubt blew away the audience with their amazing live performance of “Looking Hot” and Gwen Stefani’s ever-captivating stage presence. Producer/DJ Madeon performed a mix of his own ground-breaking music, while also playing an inventive mash-up of the nominees’ hit songs, throughout the evening, while special guest Ludacris was all over the venue to keep energy levels to the max. Backstage, Hasselhoff was non-stop tweeting behind-the scenes scoop from his Hoff’s-eye-view. Presenters at the “2012 MTV EMA” included songstress Lana Del Rey, who won the award for Best Alternative; reality star and socialite Kim Kardashian, who brought along boyfriend Kanye West as her date; GRAMMY® nominated musicians/actors Nick, Kevin and Joe Jonas; Brett Davern of MTV’s popular scripted show “Awkward”; the cast of “Geordie Shore” (MTV UK’s #1 show of all time); and supermodels Anne V and Isabeli Fontana. Fans around the world cast a staggering, record-breaking 184 million votes online and on their mobile devices to help decide the “2012 MTV EMA” winners. • Game Package with Full List of Songs(PDF)
CSCE 475H Multiagent Systems Game Day 2: Voting Day Assigned: February 23, 2016 Game Day: March 1, 2016 Introduction Welcome to Soh’s Agency for Songs Preference Aggregation (SASPA). Note that this agency is simply collecting information on songs, in an efficient and effective manner. In a way, voters (or agents) are non-strategic – as each voter should reveal their preferences truthfully as nothing is to be gained either way. This document is supplementary to Game Day 2: Voting Day assignment. Procedure Each team will be given/provided the same list of songs on Game Day in an Excel file. Then for each round, each team is required to provide their voting and e-mail their Excel file back to the Game Day monitor(s). Then the Game Day monitor(s) will aggregate the votes and send the aggregated Excel file back to all teams. Then, for Round 1, 2, 3, 5, and 6, each team will e-mail the winner to the Game Day monitor(s). Because there are six rounds, please FOLLOW the following file naming convention. Several teams failed to do so in Game Day 1 causing confusions for the Game Day monitor(s). So, this time around, teams with incorrect naming convention will be penalized (-5 points). Round<Round Number>_<TeamName>_Voting.xls OR Round<Round Number>_<TeamName>_Voting.xlsx So, for Round 1, if my team name is Foobar, then, my filename will be: Round1_Foobar.xls For the “winner” e-mail, a simple note would do. Please do indicate your Team Name and the selected winner clearly in your e-mail.

  • WRCU 2/10 ROTATIONS RIYL = Recommended If You Like
WRCU 2/10 ROTATIONS RIYL = Recommended If You Like Alone, Omen 3 by King Krule RIYL: Cosmo Pyke, Ariel Pink The chameleonic singer-songwriter is gearing up for the February 21st release of his next album, Man Alive!, with single "Alone, Omen 3", which displays elements of both the stark, rough-shod post-punk of his first record, 6 Feet Beneath the Moon, and the more eclectic art pop leanings of his second, The OOZ. But "Alone, Omen 3" also hints at a new, psychedelically inclined direction for Marshall, featuring a more understated vocal performance and a woozy, meditative tone. By Colin Jones Run by Joji RIYL: James Blake, Rejjie Snow George Kusunoki Miller began his online career as Filthy Frank (a sketch comedy act), transitioned to Pink Guy (a comedy rapper), and finally realized his full musical form as Joji, the lo-fi hip hop artist inspired by Donald Glover and influenced by electronic and R&B music. On “Run,” a haunting, mysterious electric guitar snakes its way through the song supported by heartbreaking lyrics. Imagine you’re driving along a coastal highway, top-down, feeling the wind, letting the song’s words wash over you, and thinking of your last great love...all while wearing a bad-ass, black leather jacket. That’s what this song is like. By Chase Garvey-Daniels Shangri-La by EOB RIYL: Radiohead, The Postal Service Shangri-la is one of three singles released ahead of Radiohead frontman Edward O'Brien’s upcoming album, which will be called “Earth”. This is O’Brien’s debut album as a solo artist, marking the end of (or at least a break from) his 20+ years with Radiohead.

  • Call Me Maybe – Carly Rae Jepsen – Notes
Call Me Maybe – Carly Rae Jepsen – Notes Activity types: gap fill, ordering. Level: Elementary / Pre-Intermediate Note: Released in Carly Rae Jepsen’s native Canada in 2011, it became a huge international hit when Justin Bieber promoted it to its fans. One of the biggest selling singles of 2012, it has been described as a song about "infatuation and inconvenience of a love at first sight." 1) Tell students they are going to listen to a song about a girl who likes a boy. Brainstorm to elicit words and phrases about love that students expect to hear in this kind of song, and love songs in general. Possible answers: LOVE: I love you, I miss you, I hate you, baby, sweetie, hot, sexy, meet, crazy, simple, easy, complicated, chase, seduce, call, dump, time, lie, cheat, boyfriend / girlfriend, boys / girls, phone number, date, good / bad, jealousy ... 2) Play the song. Ask students to note which words from the brainstorming activity they hear. 3) Give each student a copy of the worksheet and ask them to complete the first activity. They are probably very familiar with the song, so they can try this before listening. Play the first part of the song (up to 0’28”) and ask them to check and correct if necessary. Key: (see complete lyrics) 3, 1, 5, 11, 9, 2, 8, 4, 10, 6, 7 4) Point out the apostrophe used in goin’, blowin’, holdìn’, showin’, lookin’. What letter does this replace, and why? Key: The letter G – it is often easier to pronounce this way in a song.
