Harvey* This Article focuses on the oft-neglected intersection of racially skewed outcomes and anti-competitive markets. Through historical, contextual, and empirical analysis, the Article describes the state of Hollywood motion-picture distributionfrom its anti- competitive beginnings through the industry's role in creating an anti-competitive, racially divided market at the end of the last century. The Article's evidence suggests that race-based inefficiencies have plagued the film distribution process and such inefficiencies might likely be caused by the anti-competitive structure of the market itself, and not merely by overt or intentional racial-discrimination.After explaining why traditional anti-discrimination laws are ineffective remedies for such inefficiencies, the Article asks whether antitrust remedies and market mechanisms mght provide more robust solutions. -

Este mérito corresponde, desde luego, al guionista, David S. Ward, en ésta su segunda película, tras la muy poco conocida Material americano (Steelhard Blues, 1973), de Alan Myerson. No puede decirse, en todo caso, que tras El golpe (por el cual ganó un Oscar, y fue candidato a los premios Edgar Allan Poe, los Globo de Oro y la Writers Guild of America), tuviera una carrera demasiado lucida: su siguiente guion apareció en 1982, con Destinos sin rumbo (Cannery Row, 1982), su debut en la dirección, seguida de la secuela El golpe II (The Sting II, 1983), de un director que merece más crédito del que se le suele dar, Jeremy Kagan. -

The Head Coach will report to Dallas Rugby’s Director of Rugby (DOR) who is responsible for the oversight of the on- field product on all sides including Men’s, 7’s, Women’s, High School, and Youth. About Dallas Rugby Recent History The Dallas Rugby Club competes in all four divisions of USA Men’s Club Rugby (D1, D2, D3, & D4) and before the COVID affected 2020-21 season held the title of the largest men’s rugby club in the USA in three of the previous four seasons. In the highest divisions, Dallas Rugby competes regularly at the top of the Texas Rugby Union/Red River Rugby Conference. Major League Rugby Since the MLR’s founding in 2018, Dallas Rugby has had a strong connection to the league with many players moving up to play professionally for both the Houston SaberCats and NOLA Gold. In addition to player movement, Dallas Rugby has a history of regularly playing MLR teams and their Academies in pre-season matches. In December 2020, it was announced that Dallas Rugby would be one of two Division 1 Affiliates of the Dallas Jackals as they look forward to entering the MLR for the 2022 season. DOI: 10.5294/pacla.2017.20.3.7 Abstract Telefantasy series Torchwood (2006–2011, multiple production partners) was industrially and paratextually positioned as being Welsh, despite its frequent status as an international co-production. When, for series 4 (sub- titled Miracle Day, much as the miniseries produced as series 3 was subti- tled Children of Earth), the production (and diegesis) moved primarily to the United States as a co-production between BBC Worldwide and Amer- ican premium cable broadcaster Starz, fan response was negative from the announcement, with the series being termed Americanised in popular and academic discourse. This study, drawn from my doctoral research, which interrogates all of these assumptions via textual, industrial/contextual and audience analysis focusing upon ideological, aesthetic and interpretations of national identity representation, focuses upon the interactions between fan cultural capital and national cultural capital and how those interactions impact others of the myriad of reasons why the (re)glocalisation failed. It finds that, in part due to the competing public service and commercial ide- ologies of the BBC, Torchwood was a glocalised text from the beginning, de- spite its positioning as Welsh, which then became glocalised again in series 4. -

It’s diffi cult to explain the transformation of the Hansons from “retards” and “criminals” to icons who still tour North American arenas every year, dispensing their special brand of tough, in-your-face hockey, without having changed a whole lot about their style. -
