The subject suffered a neck injury and was transferred to BCAS for treatment. 30 07:20 SEA LAND 1 4 1 4 Golden SAR members responded to search for a 180658 missing hiker on the glacier at Mount Bryce. The SAR team located backpacks along a route into the community of Donald. The missing hiker was located and explained that he had taken a fall and was behind schedule so he dropped the surplus gear along the way. 30 10:17 NEA LAND 4 3 4 2 PEP Air members responded via RCMP Helo Air 180659 3, along with 1 West Chilcotin SAR member to assist in assessing the status of 4 overdue hikers/canoeists in the vicinity of Ant Lake in the Anahim Lake region. PEP Air located the hikers in good condition and not needing SAR assistance. 30 16:52 SWE LAND 1 3 1 3 Whistler SAR members responded to rescue a 180660 fallen hiker at the Panorama Viewpoint near Garbaldi Lake. The subject was rescued by SAR helicopter and transferred to BCAS, in good condition. 30 23:01 SEA INLAND 2 1 2 1 Grand Forks SAR member responded to locate 180661 WATER two missing tubers on the Kettle River near Rock Creek. The subjects self rescued and SAR was stood down. 31 05:26 NWE INLAND 1 5 1 5 Terrace SAR members responded to locate a 180662 WATER missing, despondent male near Fairy Island Recreation Site on the Skeena River. The RCMP located the subject and SAR was stood down. 31 07:10 VIR LAND 1 25 1 25 Cowichan, Nanaimo, PEMO, Ladysmith and 180663 JDF SAR members responded to search for a missing, despondent male in the Lake Cowichan area. The male was located, deceased. 11 13:19 VIR LAND 1 114 1 114 Cowichan, Arrowsmith, Comox Valley, Juan de 180497 Fuca, Campbell River, Ladysmith SAR and PEP Air UPDATE searched for weeks for a missing, elderly female. SAR located the missing female, deceased. 31 15:20 CTL LAND 1 10 1 10 Princeton SAR members responded to rescue 180664 an injured dirtbiker in the Hedley area. The subject was located and handed off to BCAS for treatment. 31 19:49 CTL INLAND 16 16 Shuswap SAR members responded to a report 180665 WATER of a boat in distress, north of Sicamous on Shuswap Lake. On arrival, no vessel was present and a search of the area did not locate any vessel in distress so SAR was stood down. 01 12:46 SEA AIR 13 9 Sparwood SAR members and 4 PEP Air 180666 members responded to a plane crash of a twin engine airplane near 2901 Fording Highway near Elkford. As SAR members were preparing to deploy, new information from RCMP indicated the crash location was just inside the Alberta border. Alberta resources responded and the SAR team was stood down. 01 12:51 CTL INLAND 1 4 1 4 Kelowna Marine Rescue members responded to 180667 WATER rescue a bridge jumper on the WR Bennett Bridge, Okanagan Lake, near Kelowna. The RCMP rescued the subject successfully so Kelowna Marine Rescue was stood down. 01 13:05 CTL AIR 3 1 1 2 1 Lillooet Rescue member responded to rescue 180668 three occupants of a float plane crash, into a dock near Gold Bridge. Before the SAR team could respond, the incident was handed over to JRCC SAR techs for assistance. 01 13:09 NWE LAND 1 6 1 5 Houston SAR and 1 Bulkley Valley SAR member 180669 responded to rescue an injured hiker who sustained a hip injury on the Barret Hat Trail near Houston. The subject was successfully airlifted via helicopter to Smithers for treatment. 01 16:55 CTL INLAND 1 4 1 4 Peachland Marine Rescue members responded 180670 WATER to rescue a boater in distress on Okanagan Lake, near Peachland. Another boater towed the subject to shore and the Fire Department Marine Rescue unit was stood down. 01 17:00 SWE LAND 1 5 1 5 members of Hope SAR responded to rescue a 180671 fallen hiker on the trail to the Othello Tunnels. The team located the subject and transported them out of the area. 01 17:47 SWE LAND 1 22 1 22 members of Chilliwack SAR responded to 180672 search for a missing, despondent female in the Bench Road area. The subject was located, alive. 01 21:37 NEA LAND 1 2 1 2 Robson Valley SAR members responded to 180673 rescue a dehydrated 13 year old hiker, 7km up the main trail at Mount Robson. The SAR team was stood down when helpful bystanders assisted the subject down the trail. 02 09:38 SWE LAND 1 12 1 12 Coquitlam SAR members responded to rescue 180674 an injured 14 year old cyclist with head and arm injuries on the Bullet Dodger Trail, near Harper Road in Coquitlam. BCAS sucessfully rescued the subject and stood SAR down. 02 12:15 CTL LAND 1 12 1 12 Vernon SAR members responded to rescue a 180675 male who fell 10 feet and injured his ankle at BX falls. The SAR team assisted BCAS with getting the subject up the bank. 02 14:24 VIR INLAND 1 22 1 22 Campbell River SAR members responded to 180676 WATER rescue a distressed swimmer near the suspension bridge at Elk Falls Campgrounds. The swimmer was recovered, deceased. 02 18:16 CTL INLAND 10 12 10 12 Vernon SAR members responded to rescue ten 180677 WATER occupants of a boat, on Okanagan Lake, that was sinking. RCMP stood down SAR when the pump on the boat began working. 02 18:22 CTL INLAND 2 6 2 6 Naramata Marine Rescue and Penticton Marine 180678 WATER Rescue members responded to an overturned catamaran on Okanagan Lake. SAR was stood down when the subjects self rescued. 03 12:52 CTL LAND 2 6 2 6 Nicola Valley SAR members responded to assist 180679 with two injured quad riders, 2 km north of Paradise Lake, east of Merritt. Both subjects were rescued and passed to BCAS for treatment. 03 435313 NWE LAND 1 4 1 1 Houston SAR and 3 Bulkley Valley SAR members 180680 responded to rescue an injured female hiker, north of Smithers. The subject and her hiking party were picked up by a helicopter tasked by the NW Fire Centre and dropped off at the Dease Lake Airport. They were then taken to hospital via BCAS. 03 21:20 CTL INLAND 3 15 3 15 Kelowna Fire Department Marine Rescue 180681 WATER members responded to rescue distressed swimmers on Okanagan Lake near Rattlesnake Island. The subjects were found, in good health and did not require medical attention. 04 12:44 SWE LAND 1 14 1 14 Ridge Meadows SAR members responded to 180682 search for a missing, despondent male at the end of Ford Rd. Nothing was found and the search was suspended by the RCMP. 04 13:17 SWE LAND 1 6 1 6 North Shore Rescue members responded to 180683 rescue a female who suffered a head injury on the Hollyburn Mountain Trail. The SAR team rescued the subject via helicopter and transferred her to BCAS with a head injury. 04 14:53 SWE LAND 2 7 2 3 Hope SAR members along with assistance from 180684 4 Chilliwack SAR HETS team members responded to rescue two lost hikers from Needle Peak. The hikers were rescued via HETS. One injured party, declined hospital treatment. 04 15:12 VIR LAND 1 6 1 6 Juan De Fuca SAR members responded to 180685 rescue an injured male who fell at Botanical Beach. BCAS and Port Renfrew FD rescued the subject with an ankle injury and SAR was stood down. 04 16:16 SWE LAND 1 11 1 11 Squamish SAR members responded to rescue 180686 an injured, downhill mountain biker at Meadow of the Grizzly, Diamondhead Park near Squamish. The SAR team rescued the subject and family members transported him to hospital. 04 16:36 SWE LAND 1 1 1 1 Squamish SAR member responded to rescue a 180687 mountain biker with an injured foot on Treasure Trail in Squamish. The incident was in the jurisdiction of Squamish Fire and SAR was stood down. 04 17:14 VIR LAND 1 1 1 1 Nanaimo SAR member responded to search for 180688 an individual who was missing since swimming between Protection and Newcastle Islands, near Nanaimo.
