Companies, while making profit from the society, should equally be committed to their employees, consumers, the community and environment in which they operate. CSR is not simply ‘doing good’ or mere philanthropy. It involves integrating Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) policies and practices into corporate strategy and business operations for the benefit of all. Companies should play a more active role in supporting the community at large, and help underprivileged people benefit from economic development, thus reducing poverty in the long run. International trends are showing the importance of CSR.
