Gippy grewal’s ‘manje bistre’ all set for worldwide release on april 14 By : INVC Team Published On : 4 Apr, 2017 12:10 PM IST INVC NEWS Chandigarh, Upcoming Punjabi movie ‘Manje Bistre’ being distributed by White Hill Productions, with versatile actor Gippy Grewal in the lead role & also donning the writer-producer hat yet again; is all set for its worldwide release on April 14. The star cast of the film held a press conference in Cinepolis, Jagat Mall, Sec 17 to share greater details of the family drama. Gippy Grewal, Lead Actress Sonam Bajwa, Actor Karamjit Anmol & Jaggi Singh who is Co Producer & has also acted in the film interacted with media. To give a feel to the media of how full of fun the film is, a preview of ‘Manje Bistre’s’ Trailer & some foot tapping songs of the film was held. It is noteworthy that the ‘Manje Bistre’ sees Gippy Grewal turning writer-producer once more. Gippy’s debut production was movie Ardaas which released in 2016. Ardaas was a hit both with the audiences and was critically acclaimed too. “The story of ‘Manje Bistre’ revolves around a Punjabi wedding, with elements of romance and comedy. I promise you that Manje Bistre will be an out & out family film which will make you laugh and enjoy. It will certainly make you feel good.” Said Gippy. “I am really excited about the film and eagerly awaiting its hitting theatres on April 14. We cannot divulge much about the story at this juncture. All I can say at this point is that the entire team has made a great entertainer & a full ‘paisa wasool’ film. You simply have to go watch it at a theatre near you to enjoy it.” Said Sonam Bajwa. While Gippy’s Ardaas was a movie extolling the audiences to go back to their roots, Manje Bistre is a movie which has equal elements of romance and entertainment. “I feel Gippy is taking his èxperiments’ in Punjabi cinema to another level. He believes in giving the audiences `different’ cinema, which he takes forward in his latest venture too.” Said Jaggi Singh, who has acted in the film & also Co Produced it. It was informed that apart from the interesting storyline, the USP of Manje Bister is its music. The foot tapping Music by Jay K (Jassi Katyal) is already setting the mood at weddings and parties. The title track of the movie has been sung by Nachhatar Gill. Song Ja Vi Na sung by Karamjit Anmol has been penned by Kuldeep Kandiara. Another foot tapping song is Dubai Wale Shaikh whose lyrics have been given by Happy Raikoti and sung by Gippy Grewal and Nimrat Khaira. Saga Music is looking after digital distribution of the movie’s songs which encompass all genres, ranging from peppy music to romantic songs. “The music of the movie is already a rage both in India and worldwide on digital platforms. The trailer of the movie, which was recently released, has also created quite a buzz on both the digital media and the social circuit.” Added Gippy. This family drama features Gippy Grewal, Sonam Bajwa, Karamjit Anmol, and Jaggi Singh in pivotal roles. The dialogues are penned by Rana Ranbir & the movie has been directed by Baljit Singh Deo. Dept. of Journalism and Mass Communication Doaba College, Jalandhar Abstract The Punjabi film industry is currently in its growth stage. The Punjabis in the Diasporas gave a new dimension to the Punjabi identity. It has brought a massive boost in the cinema and film music. Pollywood in the North Indian film industry is commercial and art cinema Punjabi is in its initial stage. Producers target just clientele and seldom take the risk. Crisp comedy films overpower an experiment in production, rare themes and different genres. The research did a descriptive analysis with the support of unstructured and semi- structured interviews of producers, actors, and Pollywood directors. The research also explores the need and importance of film institute and film clubs to sensitize the Punjabi audiences regarding the film as a medium, film grammar, and aesthetics. The research also focused on the marketing trends and the vital role of social media in multiplexes' age. Pollywood also lacks in skills and availability of high-end studios for post-production. Indirect taxes and expensive multiplex as a hindrance to attracting rural audiences to remote areas in Punjab. Keywords: Pollywood, Diasporas, multiplex, approach, revival. In one stroke the Modi government has passed three agri and marketing ordi - nances usurping Agriculture, which is a state subjectunder the Seventh Sched - ule. The ordinances are against the spirit of Cooperative Federalism enshrined in the Constitution. What was the emergency that forced the Central Government to enforce the new farm ordinances.It has been enforced at a time when the nation is in the middle of the Covid battle and a face-off with China, with economy in a state of shambles. Most of the farmers’ organisations, unions and, with the possible exception of BJP’s own BharatiyaKisanSangh, are against the the government’s three laws on agri-marketing. The Chief Minister, CaptAmarinder Singh, has been quick to reject the Central ordinances asking the Prime Minister, Mr Narendra Modi for an immediate re - view of the ordinances which he called anti-farmer and which would ruin the state’s economy. He saw it as a precursor to the elimination of the MSP regime. The Ordinances appear to be part of the process started in 2014, when the Shanta Kumar committee recommended dismantling of MSP and FCI, and reduc - tion of distribution of foodgrains under the PDS scheme.
