BACK-TO-BACK FOR SCRIVENS Ben Scrivens posted back-to-back shutouts (Feb. 16 vs. OTT, Feb. 18 at FLA) and a shutout streak of 151:46 from February 14-19. Scrivens posted a 37-save shutout February 18 at Florida and registered his first career shutout with 34 saves February 16 vs. Ottawa. The last Maple Leaf goaltender to post back-to-back shutouts was James Reimer last season (Feb. 1 vs. PIT, Feb. 4 at OTT) and his shutout streak was 138:10 during that stretch.

The shutouts were the first two of Scrivens NHL career. According to the Elias Sports Bureau, Scrivens and Anders Lindback are the only active NHL goaltenders whose first two NHL shutouts came in consecutive games. (Lindback posted his first two NHL shutouts for Nashville on Dec. 11-13, 2010.) Scrivens is also the first Maple Leafs goaltender to post shutouts in consecutive games while facing more than 30 shots on goal in each game since Bruce Gamble did that in 1966 (March 3-5).

SCRIVENS POSTS FIRST NHL SHUTOUT Ben Scrivens made 34 saves and recorded his first NHL shutout in the Maple Leafs 3-0 win over the Ottawa Senators on February 16. From Elias Sports Bureau: In the expansion era (1967-68 to present), the only other goaltender to record the first shutout of his NHL career while playing for Toronto and face at least 34 shots on goal in that game was Ken Wregget, who stopped 38 shots in his first shutout, a 6-0 win at Philadelphia on November 14, 1987.

ROAD WARRIORS The Maple Leafs posted a 7-2-0 record in their first nine road games of the 2012-13 season. It was Toronto's best start to a season on the road since 1940-41 when the Leafs posted an identical 7-2-0 record through nine road games.

ORR'S GOALS USUALLY LEAD TO WINS Colton Orr scored his first goal of the season on February 11 in the Leafs 5-2 win over Philadelphia at ACC. Orr has now scored 12 career goals in the NHL (four with NY Rangers, eight with Toronto), and according to the Elias Sports Bureau, his teams have a combined record of 9-0-3 in the games in which he's scored. Orr has also registered four game-winning goals.

LEAFS POST FOUR-GAME WINNING STREAK The Maple Leafs won four consecutive games from February 5-11. The Maple Leafs last four-game winning streak was from January 3- 10 during the 2011-12 season.

HISTORIC WIN FOR LEAFS IN MONTREAL From Elias Sports Bureau: The Maple Leafs' 6-0 win at Bell Centre on February 9 matched their largest margin of victory ever in a shutout against the Canadiens in Montreal (a 6-0 win by Johnny Bower at the Forum on Jan. 13, 1966). It was their biggest shutout win versus the Canadiens anywhere since March 27, 1968 (another 6-0 Bower victory) at Maple Leaf Gardens.

HOLZER AND KOMAROV MAKE FIRST NHL GOALS COUNT Korbinian Holzer (Feb. 5 at WSH) and Leo Komarov (Feb. 9 at MTL) each scored their first NHL goals last week, both of which were the eventual game-winners in there respective games. Six other current Maple Leafs' first NHL goals have been game-winning goals: Matt Frattin - Nov. 19, 2011 vs. WSH Tyler Bozak - Jan. 14, 2010 vs. PHI Nikolai Kulemin - Oct. 9, 2008 at DET Colton Orr (NY Rangers) - Feb. 9, 2007 vs. TBL Jay McClement (St. Louis) - Oct. 11, 2005 vs. CHI John-Michael Liles (Colorado) - Oct. 16, 2003 at MIN

It was the Maple Leafs' first win in Winnipeg since November 1, 1995, when the Leafs defeated the original Jets, who are now known as the Phoenix Coyotes, by a score of 4-2. Toronto had only played two previous games against the new Jets in Winnipeg (both last season) since the team moved from Atlanta in the summer of 2011.

LEAFS AND JETS EXCHANGE SHG'S IN SHORTEST SPAN IN OVER SEVEN YEARS From Elias Sports Bureau: Winnipeg's Zach Redmond and Toronto's Tyler Bozak traded shorthanded goals 2:49 apart during the second period of the Leafs-Jets game on February 7. FRATTIN'S GOAL IS LATEST REGULAR SEASON OT GOAL FOR LEAFS According to the Elias Sports Bureau, Matt Frattin's goal at the 4:58 mark of overtime on January 29 at Buffalo was the latest regular- season overtime goal by a Toronto player since the NHL introduced the five-minute extra period in 1983.
