It is our pleasure to be able to share with Oyou our culture and cuisine. You will be entertained by a live Serbian band performing contemporary and traditional songs. There is a wide array of authentic Serbian food to try. You can experience ćevape (chevape) and goulash. If you haven’t been to a pig or lamb roast, then you can try our delicious roasted pig and lamb hot off the spit. Another item that is of- ten on our menu is a bull roast sandwich (roast beef sandwich) hot off of the spit. A meat lover’s must-try. Come to the bar and enjoy a glass of rakija (Serbian plum brandy), a centuries-old drink, with your hosts. Živeli! (Cheers!) For those who have a sweet tooth, we will be serving our traditional desserts, which pair perfectly with a cup of traditional Canadian Tim Hortons coffee :) Our biggest thank you goes to our volunteers. -

D. Cornell University 2017 Abstract Cooking responds to this double entendre of a past that is collected, interpreted and then projected on to a present that then overcomes it. New food trends necessarily imply questions about social and cultural equality and identity. That which is novel is exciting and refreshing; it implies learning and broadening boundaries, which are often geographical and social and always cultural. However, the process also entails the inherent challenge to define and answer what is lost and valued in a new scenario and to understand to what purpose. Some categories that have been used to understand such historical processes of cultural production in social systems are class, race, ethnicity and gender, as well as concepts associated with territory, differentiation, integration and democratization, authenticity and exoticization. My purpose in conducting an analytical approach to the development of the gastronomical and culinary subject in Colombia and of building a diagnostic map of it, responds to the wish to contribute to the understanding of the function of food research in solving specific questions of inequality, estrangement, and deracination, as well as understanding new senses of belonging and appropriation that emerge because of urban reconfigurations. -

The food is relevant and valuable to any people at ay stages of its development, therefore in each language the lexical-thematic group “food” presents a significant number of lexical items, many of which have a long history in the language. Due to the natural habitat of the people, its main historical occupations, the cultural and historical development of food, related national cuisine is one of the most specific areas of the culture, which is reflected in its linguistic scope. Main factors determining the nature of traditional dish are the way of life of the people, economy, religion, natural resources, climate, geography of the country, neighboring peoples, etc. National Tatar cuisine was influenced by external factors and formed to provide the human body with all of the nutrients to promote effective adaptation to the environmental conditions. The article discusses the food names of the Tatar language on the background of those natural conditions that influenced the formation of eating behavior of the ethnic group. Studying the food vocabulary leads to the conclusion that each language is an integral part of the life of any nation and the history of a native speakers. -
