April 1-4 2021 During the last Mare Nostrum Cup 300 national and international teams took part. Countries represented were Cyprus, France, Ireland, Japan, Lebanon, Poland, Russia, United Arab Emirates USA and, of course Spain. Almost 800 games were played, with 36 games played every hour at the same time. About 6,000 people stayed at the tournament accommodation and enjoyed the best edition ever, making the Costa Dorada the Capital of Football. There is also one designated a 7-a-side pitch. In addition the tournament has access to thirteen other venues throughout the Costa Daurada area. Accommodation Cambrils Park Resort 4 * superior has three swimming pool areas and a variety of recreational areas (volleyball, table tennis, basketball, football, mini-golf, etc.). You can find accommodations of different types, all of them fully equipped. It is only 500m from the tournaments main venue, C.E.Fútbol Salou and close to the coast. Teams can choose between a stay in either villas or apartments at the resort. Here is a short description of each type… Bungalow Aloha 47 square metre Cabins with wooden walls and capacity for 4 people (2 independent double rooms). These bungalows have a porch with a furnished terrace and an area with comfortable sun loungers to relax after playing matches. All are equipped air conditioning, lounge, dining room, kitchen and bathroom, together with a furnished terrace. Villas Bonita These 65m2 villas have 2 separate double bedrooms and bathroom. In addition, all have a terrace and lawn furniture. All are equipped air conditioning, lounge, dining room, kitchen and bathroom, together with a furnished terrace. Apartments La Mediterrània There are 3 types of apartments located on the ground floor or first floor. They have different capacities (from 4 to 6 people) and en suite rooms. All are equipped with bathroom and terrace on which to relax after your matches Alternatively, you can choose to stay in a hotel. There is a choice between 3 star and 4 star hotels, all are close to the tournament base and transport is included in the price you pay. Typical three star hotel. Oh!tels Belvedere *** Located next to Port Aventura and a mere 700 metres from the beach, Hotel Belvedere has comfortable, fully equipped rooms that were recently renovated and quality services and facilities to ensure you enjoy a wonderful holiday. The establishment's international cuisine, which includes a variety of products suitable for coeliac guests, combined with an extensive entertainment programme for all ages will guarantee both young and old have a great time here. Typical four star hotel 4R Salou Park Resort is located only 200m from Capellans Beach and a short distance from the commercial and leisure area of Salou, where you can find countless shops, bars, restaurants and recreational areas. These two other attractions make it the biggest resort in the south of Europe which attracts around 5 million visitors per year. PortAventura Park features five theme areas based on civilisations (Mediterrània, Far West, México, China and Polynesia), and one theme area based on Sesame Street. Mediterrània is the main entrance area of the park. Main rides include: • Furius Baco, an Intamin Accelerator Coaster with winged seating and a top speed of 83.9 mph. • Grand Canyon Rapids, a whitewater river rapids ride along the Grand Canyon. • Hurakan Condor, an Intamin drop tower ride. This ride is one of the tallest in the world at 330 ft. • Dragon Khan, with 8 inversions this formerly held the record as having more inversions than any other roller coaster. It also held the world record for the tallest vertical loop on any roller- coaster. It consistently ranks among the world's best roller coasters in polls. • Shambhala, this B&M hypercoaster beat three European records as it was the fastest (80 mph) and tallest roller coaster in Europe. It is 76m tall and had longest drop in Europe at 78 m (2 m underground). Ferrari Land. InvestIndustrial and Ferrari signed a deal to build a new area themed to the Italian sports car brand in the PortAventura resort covering 75,000 m2, including new rides, a 250-room hotel with restaurants, shops and car racing simulators. Ferrari Land is the resort's second theme park, separate from PortAventura Park. Its entrance is adjacent to PortAventura Park's main entrance. The Mediterranean theme is common to both entrances, as Ferrari Land is inspired by Italy, including recreations of Venice's Piazza San Marco and Rome's Colosseum. The main ride of Ferrari Land is a 112 m tall vertical accelerator coaster that surpassed Shambhala as the tallest coaster in Europe and is also the fastest coaster in Europe. The park was opened on 7 April 2017, after an investment of more than €100 million. Ferrari Land opened a kids area in 2018. PortAventura Caribe Aquatic Park is a water park which is adjacent to PortAventura Park. It has an area of 50,000 m2, which includes 16 attractions and slides, as well as over 8,500 m2 of water-covered surface area. It is themed to the Caribbean, with beaches, palm trees, and Latin and reggae music, it also includes shops and restaurants. Getting There… There are two main options for flights to this tour… The nearest airport is Reus which is 7 miles away from the tour base.
