The International Whitsuntide Trophy June 1-6th 2020 The International Whitsuntide Trophy will be hosting teams from all over Europe as it coincides with an important spring break in several countries.Entries in 2010 were received from Germany, Italy, Scotland, Ukraine, Taiwan and, of course, Spain. Teams have entered in past years from Albania, Algeria, Canada, England, France, Hungary, India, Ireland, Russia, Sweden and Turkey Compete with teams across the World and enjoy the Costa Brava's glittering sunshine, deep blue sea, sandy beaches as well as great excursion opportunities throughout your stay. Age Groups Boys 11 a-side: U19, U17, U15, and U13 Boys 7-a-side: U11 Female 11-a-side: Open Age, U17 and U15 All age groups are based upon the year of birth of the players so, for example, a U15 player will be born 1st January 2005 and later. Age dispensations are given to 2 players per team who are a maximum one year older. Tournament Programme Day 1: Arrival at the Hotel or Barcelona or Girona Airport. You will be met by a tournament representative. Accommodation at the Hotel. Lunch & dinner provided. The rest of the day is at leisure to explore the area and get over the journey. Day 2: Full board at Hotel. Transfer to the Stadium for the parade and presentation of the official Opening Ceremony of the tournament. After the presentation, return to the Hotel or play the match you have in your schedule. Rest of the day at leisure. Days 3 and 4: Full board at the Hotel. Tournament matches continue as per schedule. if you have qualified for next round you will play extra matches. Day 5: Full board at the Hotel. Final matches, semi-finals and finals. In the evening grand Awards Presentation and Closing Ceremony. Day 6: Breakfast at the Hotel. Depart Hotel. ADIOS AMIGOS! Accommodation All teams are accommodated on a full Board basis in 3 or 4 star hotels. All of the hotels will be in towns such as Lloret de Mar, Blanes, or Malgrat, all of which are about an hour from Barcelona. Every hotel has en-suite rooms, a swimming pool, a TV room, a bar and a restaurant. Meals are generally served buffet-style in the hotel where you are staying, The first meal of the tour will be dinner on the day you arrive, whilst the tour will finish with breakfast on your last day. Things To Do During Your Free Time Port Aventura Theme Park Experience a world of adventure visiting exotic places such as China, Polynesia, Far West, México, Mediterrània and Sésamo Aventura, the family area inspired by the world of Sesame Street. Discover full-on 80 mph adrenaline coasters, gentle jungle swings for the kids and colourful shows from precise acrobatics to card tricks and magicians. Test your nerves on the 8-loop Dragon Khan which reaches speeds of over 70mph. Shambhala is a rollercoaster of giant proportions! At 76 metre high, it's the tallest and fastest rollercoaster in Europe, reaching speeds of 80 mph. Enter Angkor, the fantastic Lost Kingdom of Cambodia for an exciting interactive family river adventure. Board your boat at the temple and embark on a watery journey through the jungle, using your water cannon to shoot at the pythons, monkeys and tigers found in the temple, so that your boat can freely pass through. Whilst Hurakan Condor stands at over 100 metres tall and lifts its riders slowly to the top before plunging to the ground in free fall! The terrifying Furius Baco ride accelerates from 0 to 80 mph in less than 3 seconds, twisting through trenches and tunnels over the spectacular Port Aventura Lake! Port Aventura Water Park At the Caribbean themed Port Aventura Caribe Water Park, kick back on the lazy river in an oversized rubber ring or relax in the shade of the palm trees. If you’ve still got energy to burn then theres more than enough to quench your desire in the shape of high speed water slides and vast wave pools. Young children also have their own swimming area, with water jets and Baby Bungee. Enjoy an adventurous voyage on El Rio Loco, that circles the park on its 1500 metre route or maybe test your rafting skills on El Torrente. Reserved only for the most daring of the family, El Torrente is one of the most enjoyable attractions at the Water Park. The chaotic El Tifón slides will lead you into a Caribbean storm with the strength of the hurricane and the vastness of the Atlantic Oceanit will wrap you in a refreshing and fun adventure through its dizzying declines. Climb the highest tower of The Mambo and Limbo and slide down its dramatic slides full of dips, making an incredible splash at the end! Other highlights include a 6-lane racer slide where adults and children can compete to see who can get down the fastest, a lazy river, two new swimming pools, a Sesame Street pirate ship adventure for the kids and a relaxing Caribbean-themed pool for the grown-ups! The Camp Nou Experience. This tour retraces the steps of players that have made history, such as Kubala, Cruyff, Maradona, Guardiola, Ronaldinho, Suarez, Nemar and Messi among others. Visitors can feel the true Barça passion by visiting the most emblematic areas of the Camp Nou; Discover the visitors' changing room and the tunnel onto the pitch, from where you can enjoy a panoramic view of the whole stadium, you can also sit on the first team bench! In addition you will visit the Museum with large-format interactive walls, new showcases and a wide collection of objects that reveal the history of FC Barcelona and understand the values that make Barça “més que un club” – more than a club. Here any football fan's dream comes true as they sense just what it is like to be a Barça player. You go on to visit the television studio, the mixed zone, the press room and the commentary boxes. The tour ends on the second floor, where you can visit the fascinating Multimedia space. The recommended time for a visit is approximately an hour and a half. It’s possible to expand your visit, at extra cost, with an Audio guide service or a personal guide, ask us for further details of either of these. Getting There There are two main options for flights to the tournament. The nearest airport is Reus, however there is only one airline that flies there from the UK and that is Ryan Air from East Midlands. A better option is to fly into Barcelona El Prat. The following airlines fly there.
