It’s quite amazing that a Swedish zoo builds a wooden rollercoaster. But it’s simply impressive that Wildfire beats all other European wooden coasters with an inspiring ride experience. 38 Europe’s Best Steel Coasters Taron (Phantasialand, Germany) – Intamin | Opening: 2016 Helix (Liseberg, Sweden) – Mack Rides | Opening: 2014 Untamed (Walibi Holland, Netherlands) – Rocky Mountain Construction | Opening: 2019 Lech Coaster (Legendia, Poland) – Vekoma | Opening: 2017 Katun (Mirabilandia, Italy) – Bolliger & Mabillard | Opening: 2000 Germany’s Best Steel Coasters Taron (Phantasialand) – Intamin | Opening: 2016 Der Schwur des Kärnan (Hansa-Park) – Gerstlauer | Opening: 2015 Blue Fire Megacoaster (Europa-Park) – Mack Rides | Opening: 2009 Keine andere Achterbahn in Europa vereint dermaßen perfekt eine großartige Thematisierung mit innovativer Technik und einem mitreißenden Fahrgefühl. Taron ist nichts anderes als die Summe all dessen, was eine Thrill-Achterbahn heutzutage bieten kann. No other European rollercoaster combines amazing theming, innovative technologies and a great ride experience in such a perfect way: Taron is nothing less than the sum of everything a modern thrill coaster can offer. Mit Big Thunder Moun- tain haben Vekoma und Disneyland Paris eine Anlage geschaffen, die nicht nur eine kinderfreundliche Fahrt ermöglicht, sondern deren Gestaltung nicht besser sein könnte. When it comes to family coasters it’s all about the minimum height. Vekoma and Disneyland Paris built a rollercoaster not only enabling a child-friendly ride experience – Big Thunder Mountain is also a milestone in theming. 40 Europe’s Best Darkrides Arthur (Europa-Park, Germany) – Mack Rides | Opening: 2014 Piraten in Batavia (Europa-Park, Germany) – Mack Rides | Opening: 2020 Pirates of the Caribbean (Disneyland Park, France) – Intamin | Opening: 1992 Phantom Manor (Disneyland Park, France) – Vekoma | Opening: 1992 Symbolica (Efteling, Netherlands) – ETF Rides | Opening: 2017 Germany’s Best Darkrides Arthur (Europa-Park) – Mack Rides | Opening: 2014 Piraten in Batavia (Europa-Park) – Mack Rides | Opening: 2020 Maus au Chocolat (Phantasialand) – ETF Rides / Alterface | Opening: 2011 Mit Arthur haben der Europa-Park und Mack Rides einen Darkride für die ganze Familie erschaffen, der aber trotzdem durch die Ge- schwindigkeitswechsel eine gewisse Rasanz aufweist und durch sein Hybridkonzept eine neue Erlebnisstufe kreiert hat. All the links can be found on their website – here is the link: https://unity-college.com/year-6-transition-student/ If you are not going to Unity, look on your high school website to see if they have given you a similar transition task – or have a go at this one. Design a Zoo Theme Park This is an extracurricular project for you to do, over the holidays, which links with your Science, too. It will take around 9 hours to complete. You will need to look at the science activity first, in order to make a start on this project. The aim of this project is to… 1. be able to design your own theme park ride, linking it to animals and conservation, being as creative as you can. 2. be able to use persuasive techniques to advertise and market your theme park. 3. be able to answer comprehension questions about a piece of text you have read, linked to theme parks. 4. be confident in spotting spelling and grammar errors in a piece of writing. Task 1 - Getting started This will take approximately 1 hour. First of all, go to - https://www.familytravelmagazine.com/20-virtual-theme-park-ride-tours/ ➢ Spend some time visiting the different park rides and tours from various theme parks around the world. • Chessington World of Adventures Guide
Chessington World of Adventures Guide Overview One of three theme parks located in Greater London that are operated by Merlin Entertainments Group, Chessington World of Adventures combines a host of rides and shows with a world-class zoo. Whereas nearby LEGOLAND Windsor is aimed at families with kids aged 2-12, and Thorpe Park caters for teens and young adults, Chessington offers something for just about every age group. In addition to the theme park and zoo, the site is also home to the Holiday Inn Chessington, a safari-themed hotel that overlooks the Wanyama Village & Reserve area. History The origins of Chessington World of Adventures can be traced back to 1931, when a new zoo was established in the grounds of a fourteenth century country mansion by entrepreneur Reginald Goddard. The zoo was eventually acquired by the Pearsons Group in 1978, which subsequently merged with the Madame Tussauds chain to form The Tussauds Group. The newly-formed company embarked on an ambitious £12 million project to build a theme park on the site, and Chessington World of Adventures opened to the public in 1987. • ACE's Scandinavian Sojourn
ACE’s Scandinavian Sojourn : A Southerner’s Perspective Story by: Richard Bostic, assisted by Ronny Cook When I went on the ACEspana trip back in 2009, it was by far one of the most amazing vacations I have ever experienced. In addition to getting to visit parks in a different culture than we see here, it is also a great opportunity to spend time with fellow enthusiasts and grow friendships while enjoying our common interests. When Scandinavia Sojourn was announced for the summer of 2011, I knew it was a trip I could not miss. Since the 2009 trip was my first trip to Europe I thought that there was no way the over- all experience could be better in Scandinavia. I was wrong. We landed in Helsinki, Finland around 1300 the day before we were required to be at the hotel to meet with the group. Helsinki is an interesting city and fairly new compared to many cities in Europe. Walking around the city you can see the Russian influence in the city’s architecture. In fact, many movies during the cold war would use Helsinki to shoot scenes that are supposed to be set in the Soviet Union. After making our way to the Crowne Plaza Hotel and getting a quick lunch at the hotel restaurant we decided to spend the remaining time that afternoon checking out some of the sites around our hotel. Some of these sites included the Temppeliaukio Church inside of a rock formation, the train station, Routatientori Square and National Theater, and a couple of the city’s art museums.
