The Foster family started the lagoon dredging in 1961 and many thought it was an impossible task. However, the Fosters succeeded and Brewer Island was ready for people to live in homes in 1964. Foster also gave numerous copies of his book “The Development of Foster City” to the Historical Society to sell and use the proceeds. Foster signed copies of the book as well.
