MAY 18th & 19th – X MARKS THE SPOT Treasure Hunt – The ECDRA’s 10th Annual open beach metal detecting hunt at the Ocean City Music Pier. Saturday 8AM to 4PM. Special hunt for kids (ages 2-13) Saturday morning. Loaner detectors available. Optional big silver hunt on Saturday and optional gold hunt on Sunday (8AM – 3PM) in addition to two regular prizes each day. MAY 27th - National Moment of Remembrance, established by Congress, asks Americans, wherever they are at 3 pm, on Memorial Day, to pause in an act of national unity for a duration of one minute. The time 3 p.m. was chosen because it is the time when most Americans are enjoying their freedoms on the national holiday. The moment of remembrance will take place on the Boardwalk (5th-14th Streets) as Greg Murphy of Buglers Across America sounds Taps to commemorate the moment. The Artisans hold the record as the longest continual event held in Ocean City. The Artisans will be celebrating their annual return to Ocean City with fun events and festivities through the weekend. The highlight of the weekend will be the Miss Artisan Pageant and a show by the Original Hobo Band to be held at the Music Pier on June 8th. The Hobo band will be performing at 7 PM followed by the Miss Artisan Pageant at 8 PM. Admission is free to all who would like to attend this great fun-filled evening.
