LA ESTIRPE DE RAITA HISTORIA DE UNA LÍNEA FEMENINA NOTABLE En la primavera de 1954, ha hecho sesenta años, nació en Francia, a donde su madre había viajada para ser cubierta, una potranca hija del semental inglés Rockefella y de Raita, una de las yeguas fundacionales de la operación de cría de Ramón Beamonte. Lo que entonces se vería nada más que con la lógica ilusión que acompaña al nacimiento de cualquier purasangre, se convirtió, con el paso el tiempo, en el episodio inicial de la saga de la mejor línea femenina de la historia de las carreras de caballos en España; no en vano a ella pertenecen ejemplares como el gran Rheffissimo, Manola, Bariloche, Taoro, El Gaucho, Fado, Katimba y muchos otros buenos ganadores. Lo que sigue es la historia de esta estirpe, la estirpe de Raita. Manuel de Luque PARTE I: NONANT-LE-PIN, UNA FAMILIA HUMANA Y OTRA EQUINA Raita nació en 1942 en el Haras de Nonant-le-Pin, situado en el departamento de Orne, región de Baja Normandía, seguramente una de las zonas de Francia más identificada con la cría del caballo en general y del purasangre en particular. La potranca, de capa castaña oscura, era hija de Foxlight y Rouiba, por Transvaal. Nonant-le-Pin, situado cerca de la ciudad de Argentan y muy próximo a la famosísima yeguada de propiedad pública Haras de Pin, había sido creado nada más iniciarse el siglo XX por el capitán de artillería y destacado agricultor y ganadero Henri Corbiére. La propiedad donde se asentaba la yeguada había estado vinculada a su familia desde el año 1868, cuando su abuelo, M. -
