E.1.1 Summary Recommendation At its meeting in July, 2016, City Council endorsed the express subway extension of Line 2.     STAFF REPORT ACTION REQUIRED 2008 Graffiti Transformation Investment Program Date: April 25, 2008 To: Community Development and Recreation Committee From: Executive Director, Social Development, Finance and Administration Wards: All Reference Number: SUMMARY The Graffiti Transformation Investment Program (GT) is an annual funding program within the Community Partnership and Investment Program (CPIP) budget. The program addresses youth unemployment and neighbourhood beautification by enabling local organizations to hire youth to remove graffiti and resurface walls with attractive murals. This report provides an overview of the GT Program and makes recommendations for 2008 allocations. RECOMMENDATIONS The Executive Director, Social Development, Finance and Administration recommends that: 1. Graffiti Transformation Investment Program funding totalling $340,230.00 be allocated to 20 community organizations as outlined in Appendix “A” of this report; 2. the appropriate City Officials be authorized and directed to take the necessary action to give effect thereto. Financial Impact There is no financial impact beyond what has been approved in the 2008 Approved Operating Budget. The Deputy City Manager and Chief Financial Officer has reviewed this report and agrees with the financial impact information. Staff report for action on 2008 Graffiti Transformation funding 1 DECISION HISTORY Organizations apply each year for support under the Graffiti Transformation Investment Program. Staff review applications for eligibility and assess program performance. Recommendations for allocations are provided to Community Development and Recreation Committee based on the approved 2008 Community Partnership and Investment Program budget. ISSUE BACKGROUND The problem of unwanted graffiti is evident in many neighbourhoods across the city. The nature of graffiti varies with the neighbourhood’s built form, accessibility of inviting surfaces, visibility to the public, and the intentions of the taggers and graffiti artists.

    STAFF REPORT ACTION REQUIRED Next Steps on the Scarborough Subway Extension Date: March 22, 2017 To: TTC Board From: Chief Executive Officer Summary The purpose of this report is to inform the TTC Board on City Executive Committee Report EX23.1: Next Steps on the Scarborough Subway Extension (Appendix A). EX23.1 outlines the recommended alignment and bus terminal for the Scarborough Subway Extension (SSE), and provides recommendations related to the SSE delivery strategy. EX23.1 was adopted, with amendments, by City Executive Committee on March 7, 2017 and will be considered by City Council at its meeting of March 28-29, 2017. This report also seeks Board approval for staff to proceed with the delivery strategy requirements relevant to the TTC and in support of Item EX23.1. Recommendations It is recommended that the TTC Board: 1. Receive the City report; 2. Further to City Recommendation 3a, authorize staff to negotiate with Infrastructure Ontario, along with the City staff, at a cost not to exceed $15 million; 3. Further to City Recommendation 3b, authorize staff to proceed with a Design- Bid-Build model, in the event an agreement with IO is not reached, per recommendation 2; 4. Further to City Recommendation 3a, authorize staff to enter into an agreement with IO and the City; Next Steps on the Scarborough Subway Extension 1 5.     ~TORONTO REPORT FOR ACTION Inclusion on the City of Toronto's Heritage Register - 1627 Danforth Avenue Date: April 4, 2019 To: Toronto Preservation Board Toronto and East York Community Council From: Senior Manager, Heritage Preservation Services, Urban Design, City Planning Wards: Ward 19 – Beaches-East York SUMMARY This report recommends that City Council include the property at 1627 Danforth Avenue on the City of Toronto's Heritage Register. The site contains a complex known historically as the Danforth Carhouse, which is currently owned by the Toronto Transit Commission (TTC). It was developed beginning in 1914 by the Toronto Civic Railways (TCR), expanded by the Toronto Transportation Commission (forerunner to today's TTC) and the TTC and currently used as offices and staff facilities for TTC personnel. In 2015, City Council requested that the property at 1627 Danforth Avenue be researched and evaluated for inclusion on the City of Toronto's Heritage Register. It has been identified for its potential cultural heritage value in the Danforth Avenue Planning Study (2018). It is the selected site for a police station consolidating 54 and 55 Divisions. The property at 1627 Danforth Avenue is part of a Master Plan study being undertaken by CreateTO to guide the redevelopment of the site as a multi-use civic hub for the Toronto Transit Commission, the Toronto Police Service and the Toronto Public Library as the key anchor tenants, which will incorporate and adaptively reuse the Danforth Carhouse. RECOMMENDATIONS The Senior Manager, Heritage Preservation Services, Urban Design City Planning recommends that: 1. City Council include the property at 1627 Danforth Avenue on the City of Toronto's Heritage Register in accordance with the Statement of Significance (Reasons for Inclusion), attached as Attachment 3 to the report (April 4, 2019) from the Senior Manager, Heritage Preservation Services, Urban Design, City Planning.
