Eric Johnson
ERIC JOHNSON The guitar has been very good to Eric Johnson, earning him international renown as a player, composer, recording artist and live entertainer as well as an ever-growing audience of admirers. And Eric Johnson has been very good to the guitar, spotlighting its myriad melodic, sonic and lyrical splendors, paying homage to its heroes and innovators, collaborating and playing with many of its finest contemporary talents, and fostering its continuing vibrancy as a primarily instrumental genre in popular music. “He's an extraordinary guitar player accessible to ordinary music fans,” notes the Memphis Commercial Appeal. That’s because Eric Johnson plays music and not just the guitar. He is also a gifted player of the piano (his first instrument) as well as songwriter, singer and song interpreter. Or more succinctly, Eric Johnson is a diverse, versatile and fully realized musical creator who plays guitar like no one else The pivotal event in Johnson's rise to becoming, as Guitar Player says, “one of the most respected guitarists on the planet," was his million-selling, now-classic 1990 album Ah Via Musicom (which loosely translates as "communicating through music"). It was his second release, following Tones, his 1986 major label debut. Musicom yielded three Top 10 singles – "Cliffs of Dover," which has become Johnson's signature song and won a Best Rock Instrumental Grammy, and "Trademark" and "Righteous." It made him the first artist to ever score three Top 10 instrumentals. Now, 28 years later, he revisits that landmark recording with a 2018 tour on which he will play the album – hailed as a "masterwork" in Amazon.com's review – in its entirety. -

This, in order to develop the acoustic guitar as a fully-fledged solo instrument, rather than its more typical role of accompanying instrument. Before Hedges, there were already several acoustic guitarists who challenged the convention that the steel-string acoustic guitar’s primary function is that of an instrument for accompaniment. John Fahey, Leo Kottke, Will Ackerman and Preston Reed were the most prominent guitarists to try to validate the steel-string acoustic guitar as a solo instrument. They all had their own unique idiosyncratic approach within this self- proclaimed mandate, but none had the disruptive impact that Hedges had, and still has. Today, this new acoustic guitar movement – often described as Fingerstyle or Percussive Guitar – is larger and more popular than ever. -
Alustavale Kitarrihuvilisele
Alustavale kitarrihuvilisele Milliseid vahendeid on vaja kitarri õppimiseks? 1. Nailonkeeltega klassikaline kitarr. 2. Kitarrikott 3. Jalapink 4. Noodipult 5. Metronoom ja häälestaja – pillipoodides on neid müügil väga erinevaid. Soovitan osta Boss TU-80 häälestaja. Kui kasutate nutitelefoni, siis saab vastavaid app´e alla laadida. 6. Noodivihik, pliiats, kustutuskumm ning 2 mappi - üks koju, teine pillikotti. 7. 1 pakk varukeeli (nailon), juhuks kui mõni keel peaks katki minema. Keskmise paksusega. 8. 3 erineva paksusega medikat: õhuke, keskmine ja paks. Võib ka rohkem osta, sest need kipuvad kergesti kaduma. Lisaks oleks vaja ühte õhukesest riidest lappi, et takistada keeltel vastu kitarrikaela minemast – pikendab oluliselt keelte ja krihvide eluiga. Kuidas tulemuslikult harjutada? 1. Harjuta regulaarselt! 4. Keskendu harjutamise ajal ainult pillimängule ja ära lase ennast segada. Lülita välja TV, raadio jm seadmed. 5. Järgi võimalikult täpselt õpetaja antud soovitusi ja ülesandeid. Tihti on harjutuse läbi mängimisest olulisem kuidas seda harjutust teha! Kuulsad kitarristid Siin nimekirjas on mõned kitarristid, keda iga kitarriõpilane võiks teada. Tegemist on väga erinevaid stiile viljelevate kitarristidega – vaadake neid youtube´ist -
