Girl Brownie Insignia and Earned Awards

Brownie Membership Pin:

This pin shows that you are a Girl Scout Brownie. It is shaped like a trefoil. Each leaf stands for one part of the Girl . In the middle of the pin is a Brownie elf. You can wear your pin even when you’re not wearing your uniform, just to show that you are a Brownie.

World Association Pin:

This pin shows that you are part of the World Association of and Girl Scouts (also known as WAGGGS.) The golden trefoil on a blue background represents the sun shining over all the children in the world.

Badges:

This is where girls build skills. Girls can work on badges that sound fun, or they can work on badges that will help build skills while they are working in a specific Journey. There are badge booklets to help explain the criteria for earning each badge.

Financial Literacy Badges:

These badges are earned when girls participate in Council Sponsored product sales programs and learn how to use the money.

Cookie Badges:

These badges are earned when girls participate in the Council sponsored cookie program.

Safety award:

This is earned when Girl Scouts learn to stay safe during their Brownie adventures.

My Promise, My Faith:

Girls can earn this award each year they are a Brownie. Girls work to show how the Girl applied to their faith.

Leadership Journey Awards:

Girls can earn awards by working in the Journey Books. Each Journey book has three awards that the girls can earn. Criteria can be found in the Adult Guide Books for that particular Journey.

Brownie Journey Summit:

Girls can earn this award by completing all three Journeys at the Brownie level.

Membership Stars:

Each star represents one year as a Girl Scout and is pinned on the disc. The color of the disc shows your level. Girl Scout Brownies get a green disc. The number of stars shows how many years you’ve been a member at each level.

Bridging Awards:

Third grade Brownies who have completed the bridging requirements that are found in the Girl’s Guide to Girl , can earn the bridging award. This award is presented at a bridging ceremony that is held at the end of the year.

NOTE: This is an optional award. Third grade Girl Scout Brownies do not need to earn the “Bridge to Girl Scout Brownies Award” to be considered Girl Scout Junior once they move to the 4th grade.

Wings:

Third Grade Brownies who bridge to Juniors can also earn their wings. Wings are given when a girl “Fly’s Up” to Juniors. The wings are to be worn on the Girl Scout Junior Uniform.
