International Programs Exchange and Visiting Student Program International students can take courses at Kyung Hee University either in Korean or English as an exchange student or a visiting student for up to 1 academic year. International students from our partner institutions are only eligible for our exchange program and their tuition at KHU is waived under the bilateral agreements. Those who are not from our partner institutions can still take courses at KHU through our visiting student program. They have to pay their tuitions for both their home university and Kyung Hee University. Global Collaborative Program Offered every summer, the Global Collaborative Summer Program provides courses by world renowned scholars and professionals from international organizations. Also, various cultural experiences and practical internship opportunities are available The program is offered through collaboration among participating universities and institutions, including the University of Pennsylvania, University of Oxford, , the UN Department of Economics and Social Affairs (DESA), and the Conference of NGOs in Consultative Relationship with the United Nations (CoNGO). UN/INGO Internship Program The Global Academy for Future Civilizations runs the UN/ INGO Internship Program to seek a civilization of peace and co-existence as well as to cultivate global leaders in the 21st century. The program places students in internships that help them better understand international problems and enhance their education through hands-on work and research at international organizations. The program is based on cooperative relationships between Kyung Hee University and diverse international organizations, such as the UN Department of Economic and Social Affairs (DESA), the UN Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP), the UN Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), World Alliance of Citizen Participation (CVICUS), and the Conference of NGOs in Consultative Relationship with the United Nations (CoNGO). Korean Language Program The Institute of International Education (IIE) is a specialized language-teaching institute. In 1993, IIE initiated its Korean language program and was selected by the government as an official institute for teaching Korean to international students. Every year, over 6,000 students from more than 100 countries attend IIE. In addition to providing high-quality Korean language instruction, the institute also offers events, special courses on the culture and history of Korea, and opportunities to meet and make friends with Korean students. International Student Support Programs Global Center Global Center, an administrative office that admits outstanding international students, provides services such as living support, counseling, and Korean language programs, to better serve the students to a rewarding and fulfilling experience at KHU.

Global Buddy Program Global Center organizes a cultural exchange program called ‘Global Buddy Program.’ The purpose is to provide a fresh life experience to the students and a chance to understand different cultures by exchanging words and thoughts. Both international students and Korean students are allowed to participate in the program. Participant will be assigned with a few team members and get a financial support from Global Center. Cultural Experience Program Global Center organizes and implements a wide variety of cultural programs every semester. Program objectives are intended to understand the culture, life-style and history of Korea through field trips. Student activities and cultural events promote friendship and social networking opportunities between international students. In the fall semester 2015, students had opportunities to experience leisure such as rafting and riding ATV and to attend traditional Korean culture experience program, that includes sightseeing, traditional crafts lesson and visiting historic sites.

Employment Assistance Program To help support domestic and overseas employment of international students, educational employment programs have been designed. Employment lectures, image making, resume clinics, mock interviews, information session with employed Korean seniors, foreign language contests, and various other programs are held for the students. International Friendship & Culture Club (I.F.C.C.) I.F.C.C. brings together Korean students and international students to build friendships and foster cultural exchanges. Through participating in I.F.C.C., students can build an international network while gaining global experiences and learning about each other’s cultures. Major activities include regular meetings, welcome parties, field trips, and get- togethers to foster mutual understanding and help students share their cultures while learning more about Korea.

International Admissions KHU welcomes applications from international students who demonstrate superior academic potential and wish to pursue an education at an exceptional university.

Undergraduate Admissions Applicants and their parents must be non-Korean citizens, and applicants must complete or are expected to complete secondary education prior to application. Seoul Campus On Campus Dormitory: Sewha Hall Sewha Hall opened as an on-campus housing community in early 2005. It has a capacity of 434 students including both Korean and international students. Each room is double occupancy, equipped with a bathroom, air conditioning, beds, wardrobes, bookshelves and desks. The room also has a mini-fridge and sink. Shared facilities include study rooms, seminar rooms, student lounges, laundry rooms, a convenience store and a fitness center. URL http://sewhahall.khu.ac.kr/

Accommodations

Off Campus Dormitory: I-House I & II Located within 5 minutes walk from KHU, I-House I and II are built only for international students. I-House I consists of 25 rooms for both male and female students and can accommodate 50 people. Also I-House II has 26 rooms only for female students and can accommodate 52 students. Each room is double occupancy, equipped with a bathroom, air conditioning, beds, wardrobes, bookshelves and desks. Additionally, it has a kitchennette with mini-fridges, storages, electric cooking hubs, and washing machines. Water dispensers and microwaves are available in the hallways. International Faculty Guest House : I-Faculty House Located on 4th to 6th floor of Orbis Hall, I-Faculty House provides short-term accommodation for international faculty, staffs and affiliated guests who have been invited for approved activities, such as teaching, research and conference. Global Campus Woojungwon Built in September 1998, Woojungwon consists of residential and commercial areas that can accommodate up to 2,000 students. Each unit is furnished with a bathroom, beds, desks, cabinets and a phone. It is also supplied with a LAN cable for Internet access. Student cafeteria and other restaurants are located in the basement, and facilities such as a pharmacy, bookstore, laundry room, food court, etc. are placed on the first floor. The Second Dormitory The Second Dormitory opened in March 2008 with the most state of the art equipment and facilities. It consists of two buildings: Building A for female and Building B for male. The Second Dormitory can accommodate up to 2,300 students and each room is double occupancy with beds, desks and cabinets. Each room comes with a private bathroom, a phone, a wired LAN and an air-conditioner. The student cafeteria and various other facilities such as a coffee shop, convenience store, stationery, internet cafe, etc. are located on the first floor of Building A.
