BUDAKESZI WILDIFE PARK VISITOR RULES 1/2018
Pursuant to Ar cle 3(2) (b) of the KöM-FVM-NKÖM-BM joint decree no. 3/2001. (II. 23.) (on the detailed rules of establishment, opera on and maintenance of zoological gardens and animal shelters) I hereby adopt the “Visitor rules” of the Budakeszi Wildlife Park below.
1. The Budapest Wildlife Park (hereina er: Wildlife Park) is commi ed to serve the protec on of nature and animals by presen ng the animals to the public. Educa on is ensured by the professional presen ng of animals and providing scien fic informa on to visitors. By presen ng its park and animals, the Wildlife Park intends to serve the protec on of environment in a complex way and develop responsible thinking in connec on with natural environment.
2. The Wildlife Park is a public ins tu on. Admission to the zoo is permi ed in return for payment of the entrance cket. Prices for ckets are specified in a price table at the cket office. The entrance cket en tles holders to visit exhibits and use included services of the Zoo – it does not en tle holders to enter areas closed from public access.
By purchasing entrance ckets visitors accept the regula ons of “Visitor Rules”
Entrance by guests to events held in non-public areas of the Wildlife Park and entrance for official purposes and instances of other admissions permi ed by the Director General of the ins tu on shall not qualify as entries to the Wildlife Zoo. At the same me, these entries shall also be fully subject to the present “Visitor Rules”.
3. The entrance cket ceases to be valid once a visitor leaves the Wildlife Park. If the visit is interrupted for whatever reason (health issues, change of weather etc.), the Wildlife Park is not obliged to reimburse visitors.
4. The Wildlife Park is open from 9:00 un l the a ernoon throughout the year except for 25th and 26th December and 1st January. The current opening hours are specified at the entrance of the Wildlife Park and on the Wildlife Park’s website (www.vadaspark-budakeszi.hu). The management reserves the right to change the opening hours for valid reasons, such as: extreme weather condi ons (thunderstorm, heavy rainfall, and windstorm), major technical difficul es (power outage, etc.), and situa ons threatening the safety of animals or terror threats.
In the event of service failure due to technical obstacles or other vis major cases the management reserves the right to decide at its own discre on on refund claims.
5. The Wildlife Park is accessible for the public during the opening hours. Visitors must leave the Wildlife Park no later than one hour a er closing me. Events organized for the public by the Wildlife Park outside opening hours cons tute excep ons, such as: guided night tours, private events, in which cases the Wildlife Park specifies available services and the specific areas open for visi ng.
6. Visitors can visit the playgrounds, the pe ng zoo and the immersion exhibits (where visitors can have direct interac on with the animals) at their own risk and liability. Children under 14 can only visit these places under adult supervision.
7. The Wild life park reserve the right to close off certain areas, buildings or exhibi ons in certain cases (reconstruc on, technical problems, issues of animal health, etc.). The Wildlife Park announces these closed off areas on the website of the Wildlife Park and at the entrance in jus fiable cases. No subsequent reimbursement is available in such events.
8. Certain areas of the Wildlife Park are not open for the public, such as the areas of maintenance facili es or areas within the range of the habitat of dangerous animals. Unauthorized access is strictly forbidden to closed off areas, areas surrounded by safety barriers, “maintenance areas” or areas that are off limits by prohibi on signs.. In the event of access to these areas the Wildlife Park holds no liability for subsequent incidents.
9. Children under 14 are not allowed to enter the Wildlife Park without adult supervision. Children’s compliance with the Visitor Rules is the responsibility of the accompanying adults. Accompanying adults shall supervise children at all mes during the course of the visit, and pay a specific a en on to the safety of life and property of children under their supervision. The Wildlife Park holds no liability for the damage resul ng from failure to adhere to these obliga ons.
Leaders of groups of children remain liable for ensuring that the children under their supervision comply with the regula ons of the Visi ng Rules on the premises of the Wildlife Park. Adult supervisors shall supervise children at all mes during the course of the visit, and pay a specific a en on to the safety of life and property of children under his or her supervision. The Wildlife Park holds no liability for any damage resul ng from failure to adhere to these obliga ons.
10. Visitors with disabili es must be supervised if their physical, hearing, mental or communica on is impaired to such an extent that their unaccompanied visit represents a danger to themselves or other visitors. People who have infec ous diseases are not allowed to enter the Wildlife Park.
11. Pets are not allowed in the Wildlife Park, since their presence pose increased threats to the health of animals.
12. The following objects are not allowed in the Wildlife Park: balloons, dangerous objects, pointed or edged object weapons, pyro tools, alcohol and drugs, or any other tools capable of frightening the animals or cons tu ng a danger to the health of the animals, or disturbing the visitors.
13. Star ng a camp fire in the Wildlife Park is strictly forbidden. Smoking is only permi ed on designated areas for smoking. Dropping lit cigare es is strictly forbidden.
14. In the interest of safety and to protect other visitors against adverse effects, the use of bicycles, scooters, skateboards, roller skates or any other vehicles is prohibited in the Wildlife Park, with the excep on of mobility aids for disabled persons or vehicles helping the mobility of young children, such as strollers or foot to floor ride-ons. Children may use foot to floor ride-ons provided their parents or adult supervisors make sure the use of such vehicles do not risk the personal safety of other visitors, otherwise staff members of the Wildlife Park may ask parents not to let children use their ride-ons. 15. During opening hours, it is prohibited to enter the area of the Wildlife Park used by visitors by car or motorcycle, with the excep on of maintenance vehicles, police-, and ambulance- or firefigh ng vehicles in service. The road traffic rules and the speed limit of 5kms/hour apply to such vehicles.
16. Visitors shall be aware that increased coming close to dangerous animals is dangerous. Visitors must obey prohibi on signs posted near the animal exhibits. Crossing safety barriers - fencing or rails - is prohibited. Viola ng the animals’ living space closed off by safety barriers (glass walls, fencing, rails, etc.) either by entering or by using objects is strictly forbidden. Immersion exhibits cons tute as excep ons.
Touching animals in immersion exhibits may be dangerous to personal safety; therefore visitors may do so at their own risk and under supervision of the keepers, who are trained to provide help. Animal’s reac ons to unexpected gestures, sounds or even smells are unpredictable. Even seemingly friendly species can be poten ally dangerous.
17. For the welfare of animals, visitors shall comply with the following regula ons: harming or harassing animals – (with effects of light or noise). Throwing objects in the exhibits is strictly forbidden. For the protec on of the animals’ health, and due to public health issues feeding the animals (with a few excep ons, shown by posted signs) is not prohibited.
18. Visitors must follow the instruc ons of Wildlife Park staff members.
19. In case of emergency, visitors shall inform a staff member of the Wildlife Park, who will follow the emergency procedure. First-aid kits are available at posted first-aid signs.
20. Visitors are liable for damage caused to the Wildlife Park.
21. The Wildlife Park rejects liability in compensa on claims resul ng from an event of viola ng the Visitor Rules. The Wildlife Park holds no liability for lost belongings. Found items are held for 3 months. Owners can reclaim their lost items a er describing the item and undergoing a verifica on of iden ty check. Items found in the exhibits may be retrieved by staff workers, at a me depending on the me schedule of the animals of the exhibit.
23. For the purpose of security, surveillance cameras have been installed in the Wildlife Park – the recordings are stored for the me extent provided for by law. By purchasing a cket or a cket pass, visitors grant their consent to the possible making of such recordings, hence visitors are not en tled to make legal claims with regards to the ma er.
24. Visitors -without breaching the regula ons of the Visitor Rules – can take photographs and make video recordings for private use. The use of drones and selfie s cks in the Wildlife Park is prohibited due to safety concerns.
25. Commercial use of photographs and recordings made in the Wildlife Park is only possible with the wri en permission of the Wildlife Park.
26. Photographs or video recordings featuring Visitors may be taken within the framework of the Wildlife Park’s own documen ng ac vi es or press ac vi es carried out on the premises of the Wildlife Park with the Wildlife Park’s permission. As far as these images and video recordings are concerned, the Visitor, by purchasing the cket or (if free admission is granted to them) by using the free admission, acknowledges that if they are featured in an image or recording with at least two other persons, it qualifies as an “image made of a crowd or in a public event”, therefore does not concern his or her right of facial likeness, hence no claim can be raised by the Visitor. In case visitors indicate their unwillingness to be featured in photographs or recordings of the Wildlife Park will not make such images of them.
27. The following persons may be excluded from visi ng the Wildlife Park
• Persons without a valid cket or proof of paying the entrance fee during a cket check;
• Persons who refuse to submit to the present rules, even in spite of being warned
• Persons with serious misconduct
• Persons under the apparent influence of alcohol or other drugs;
• Persons who, by their reckless behaviour, jeopardises their own safety or that of the others, the property of the ins tu on or the health of the animals, in any way
In these cases Visitors are not be en tled to refund of the cket.
28. Visitors are en tled to make review entries or complaints in the “Consumers’ book” at the entrance of the Wildlife The Wildlife Park inves gates complaints as soon as possible, but no later than 30 working days a er the visit.
