Official information to be distributed to you from

For selecting the players/pairs the BEC European U17 Ranking from 26/07/2021 has been used.

Please be informed that following the re-start of U17 Circuit tournaments in Europe, the BEC European U17 ranking will be updated as below:

Players will receive points for their participation in U17 Circuit tournaments but the ranking will be rolled onwards without dropping off past weeks/tournaments at this time so that players who were unable to travel and compete will not be unduly penalized, so effectively becoming a ranking of more than 52 weeks. This way of updating the ranking was decided in order to follow the method used by the BWF to update the BWF Junior Rankings (announced on 06/08/2020). The ranking will be updated as described above until it can be unfrozen.

Please remember that all withdrawal requests you'll get before the withdrawal deadline, please withdraw your players using the online entry system? The entry lists will then be updated online accordingly.

From the Organizers ( and Hvidovre Badminton Club)

As you can see there are entries from Denmark, England, Italy, Poland, Sweden, France and Peru.

The current plan contains 156 matches, we stick to the High Level schedule which can be seen in the original invite – Starting time Friday depends on the final layout, but at the moment we target first matches on Friday to be Mix doubles starting at 12.00 Expect to play around 70 matches on Friday, around 70 matches on Saturday and the remaining 15 matches (SF and F) on Sunday. As quickly as possible after the draw has been made we will publish the schedule for all matches except SF and F. We will honour the 30 min break rule between matches

And now to the tricky part, getting into Denmark in these let us just say 'interesting times', but doable. Denmark is in a good situation when it comes to control of the virus, we only have limited restrictions left, and focus are more on where people are allowed to enter from (Country), restrictions in the country is generally lifted.

Link to the latest current entry rules - https://en.coronasmitte.dk/rules-and-regulations/entry- into-denmark/categorization-of-countries - the list is updated every Friday afternoon, DK time app. 5pm, being in effect the following Monday. If you have been fully vaccinated with an EU approved vaccine, have proof of immunity not older than 6 month, then you can enter from any of the green, yellow or orange countries. Please note the entry restrictions are different from people fully vaccinated, Have immunity or none of the first two categories. If you are not vaccinated or have proof of immunity you will need the following documentation. (I assume many under 17 players are not yet vaccinated)

A negative Covid-19 PCR test which is NOT MORE THAN 72 HOURS OLD. (see list of arriving from countries in the above link) – must Schengen countries have limited entry restrictions at the moment.

If you arrive by plane – then this guide from the Copenhagen airport is useful - https://www.cph.dk/en/practical/travel-safely-through-copenhagen-airport. Depending on where you arrive from the a company called “FALCK” handles test on arrival, but please have your tests prior to departure, it smoothens everything – Governing of the rules, including req. for isolation if tested positive during your stay in Denmark is by the Danish authorities.

Note: If your players are refused entry to Denmark due to Covid-19 regulations, we will not charge you for the tournament entry fee

At the place of Venue we have 7 courts in one hall and will use up to 6 of them during the tournament (1 court is for warm up). To enforce as much social distancing as possible the order of play will be laid out to support the current Danish assembly restrictions for indoor events is 250 people – With app. 50 players, coaches and staff we should be safe. But we will monitor the number of people in the hall / venue and restrict access if needed.

We have asked the Danishes based players to only bring one parent/official per player.

Our restaurant is open during the tournament – The restaurant area / zone and badminton hall is from a Covid-19 regulation not linked and the restaurant follows public dinning regulations, meaning that you need to present a valid corona pas – similar to when entering Denmark. We will issue food menu options in a future letter, but we recommend you to make contact to the restaurant in order to have proper food supply under control (email - [email protected]).

More details on the corona regulation when in Denmark can be found here - https://en.coronasmitte.dk/rules-and-regulations

More information about how to behave while present at the Place of Venue will be handed out upon arrival.

Please note that in all public transport in Denmark, facemasks are MANDATORY if you stand-up in the bus or train (and when you walk into a train). So please bring a supply of facemasks if you plan to use public transportation. No facemasks needed at the Place of Venue.

Please remember to book and clarify transportation needs via Jan Ek from Hvidovre Badminton Club ([email protected]), Jan will be the person in charge of coordinating transportation within the BEC U17 regulation requirements
