GO 4 ROCK (click on the arrow above for more tracks.) HOTEL CALIFORNIA Don Felder - Don Henley - Glenn Frey THE EAGLES 1977 Asylum Records #45386 The lead single from the album HOTEL CALIFORNIA. Chart: #1. Time: 6:30. Flip Side: "Pretty Maids All In A Row ". Released in U.S.A on February 22, 1977. Album recorded at Criteria Studios, Miami, Florida and The Record Plant, Los Angeles, California, USA, March to October, 1976. Produced by Bill Szymczyk. Engineered by Bill Szymczyk, Allan Blazek, Ed Mashel and Bruce Hensal. Mixed by Bill Szymczyk in Miami. The Eagles in their earlier years were forced to record music that was more softer then what they wanted. After three albums, they broke with their producer and took control of their destiny, adding Joe Walsh and, important to this track in particular, Don Felder. They wanted to rock. And rock they did. They created not only their most played track, but one of the greatest of the 1970's. While on the surface, it seemed to be about California, it was more about the excesses and self-indulgence of America as a whole. - Larry - Personnel DON HENLEY Don Henley - lead vocals, drums, percussion Glenn Frey - vocals, guitar, keyboards "'Hotel California' was our interpretation of the high life in Los Angeles. It was meant to be a Don Felder - vocals, guitar, slide guitar metaphor for the United States, for the excesses this country has always been known for. • 55 Years of Country-Rock, 1965-Present
55 years of country-rock, 1965-present: Creating a new American musical genre--how two immensely popular genres of music merged to create a timeless style, uniquely American in every aspect. This class will cover the historically significant country-rock movement which started in LA in 1965 and spread across the country, changing the musical landscape of popular music. We will explore how two roots-oriented genres-- country music and rock and roll--borrowed from each other and merged to create a new genre which has since spawned many sub-genres, each with its own unique approach to country-rock. We will look at several artists and their key albums, including: The Byrds, the Buffalo Springfield, Crosby, Stills and Nash, the Flying Burrito Brothers, Gram Parsons, Poco, the Eagles, Linda Ronstadt, Emmylou Harris, John Prine, Steve Earle and others, as well as trends in instruments, arrangements and lyric-writing that made up the songs. Course Outline: WEEK ONE: Country becomes cool: How the seminal country-rock of Los Angeles spread like wildfire across the country. The Byrds, Buffalo Springfield, the Crosby Stills and Nash. • Roots Report: Grand Funk Railroad at Twin River
Roots Report: Grand Funk Railroad at Twin River Okee dokee folks… I went to see Grand Funk Railroad and former Eagles member Don Felder at Twin River last Friday night. These are my thoughts on the show. First of all, we were a bit late for the show. All week I had been thinking, “How are they going to squeeze two acts into the short timeframe that they usually have allotted for concerts at Twin River?” Well, the answer to my thoughts was that the show started at 7pm and I had forgotten to even check. So we missed Don Felder’s first few songs. When we arrived, Don Felder was already halfway through “Peaceful Easy Feeling.” I have to admit that I did not have high expectations for Don Felder’s set. I was curious as to what he was going to do. I watched the three and one half hour History Of The Eagles documentary a few times and have almost committed it all to memory. What I garnered from it was that Felder was bounced from the Eagles, Don Henley and Glen Frey didn’t really have positive things to say about him and that basically his main contribution to the band was that he was just a lead guitarist. Felder didn’t really have a booming solo career so I thought that he would just play just a very short set. I was wrong. From what I was able to ascertain from the woman sitting next to me, Felder had already played about five songs before we arrived.

THE EAGLES WAY : THE IMPORTANCE OF LOVE IN HEALTHCARE PDF, EPUB, EBOOK Dr Peter Johnston | 330 pages | 20 Nov 2012 | Balboa Press Au | 9781452507750 | English | none The Eagles Way : The Importance of Love in Healthcare PDF Book I'd rather just say it straight out from my heart. Two other quotes that just serve me well, this is from Martin Luther King, Jr. We know going in that there's going to be some unusual games where players might be playing positions they've hardly ever played. Isn't it about time we turn that around? Race doesn't — white, black or different, it's not about that. When the Titans' game begins, they'll know whether they are at risk of elimination. Behavioral symptoms can also continue into adulthood. Ironically, however, self-care and -compassion might actually be needed most by those of us who work too hard and who are constantly striving to surpass ourselves and grasp the shape-shifting phantasm of perfection. For simplicity, we assume each game has an equally small chance of ending in a tie. And so those just help me a little bit sometimes to get through a day. Relationships — whether they last 2 weeks, 2 months, 2 years, or a lifetime — are all opportunities to experience love on its many different levels. But it's not because teens aren't capable of deep loving. Use some of these mantras to get started. Giving, receiving, revealing, and supporting is a back-and-forth process: One person shares a detail, then the other person shares something, then the first person feels safe enough to share a little more.

Country Music Cultural and Historic Background Information Country music, also called country and western, is a style of American popular music that originated in rural areas of the South and West in the early 20th century. The term country and western music (later shortened to country music) was adopted by the recording industry in 1949 to replace the offensive label hillbilly music. Ultimately, country music’s origins lie in the ballads, folk songs, and popular songs of the English, Scots, and Irish settlers of the Appalachians and other parts of the South. In the early 1920s the traditional string-band music of the Southern mountain regions began to be commercially recorded, with Fiddlin’ John Carson garnering the genre’s first hit record in 1923. The vigour and realism of the rural songs, many lyrics of which were rather impersonal narratives of tragedies pointing to a stern Calvinist moral, stood in marked contrast to the often-mawkish sentimentality of much of the popular music of the day. More important than recordings for the growth of country music was broadcast radio. Small radio stations appeared in the larger Southern and Midwestern cities in the 1920s, and many devoted parts of their airtime to live or recorded music suited to white rural audiences. Two regular programs of great influence were the “National Barn Dance” from Chicago, begun in 1924, and the “Grand Ole Opry” from Nashville, begun in 1925. The immediate popularity of such programs encouraged more recordings and the appearance of talented musicians from the hills at radio and record studios. Among these were the Carter Family and Jimmie Rodgers, whose performances strongly influenced later musicians.
