Our Daily Cruise Itinerary (timing and content of included shore excursions subject to change):

Day 1/Saturday, January 21: Fly to south Florida and overnight Transfer to Minneapolis airport and fly to south Florida. Upon arrival, we will transfer to a nice hotel for a relaxing evening before your Top of the Hill Club tour begins.

Day 2/Sunday, January 22: Miami’s ‘Little Havana’ tour; Embarkation After breakfast at the hotel, transfer to Miami and enjoy a ‘Little Havana Cuban Heritage’ sightseeing tour before transferring to the pier and board ‘Adonia’. Set sail this afternoon at 4:30 pm.

Day 3/Monday, January 23: Get acquainted with your intimate floating resort as you enjoy the sunshine and the sea breezes. Join your fellow travelers for an interactive session in basic Spanish or a class in photography. Or attend one of the week’s core workshops designed to give you a deeper insight into the history and cultural norms of Cuba and help you step more comfortably into a different culture.

Day 4/Tuesday, January 24: Santiago Du Cuba, Cuba Visit sights such as San Juan Hill, where you can view the watchtower, get an up-close view of the cannons used during this important battle of the Spanish-American War, and view the memorial dedicated to those who lost their lives; the Antonio Maceo Revolution Square featuring the country’s tallest heroic statue and the Santa Ifigenia Cemetery where Cuban national hero Jose Marti was laid to rest. Afterward, enjoy lunch at a local paladar. In the afternoon, prepare yourself for the breathtaking views of the UNESCO World Heritage site, San Pedro de la Roca Castle, built to protect the port of Santiago. Then visit the red-domed towers of the Basílica de Nuestra Señora de la Caridad del Cobre, Cuba’s most sacred pilgrimage site. (9:00 am – 5:00 pm).

Day 5/Wednesday, January 25: Cienfuegos, Cuba It’s time to explore this bustling little town to get a feel for what life is like in a more rural area of Cuba. The first stop is at a local ration store where your guide explains in detail the ration system in Cuba. Then learn about the dual currency system also in place. Visit a local market that deals in both currencies so you can get a better understanding of how it all works. Finish up at the town square where you’ll get a chance to chat with some of the locals about life in this quaint town. Visit the Teatro Tomas Terry featuring influences from both France and Italy. This theatre is grand from the outside, but even grander within. Now prepare yourself for a most memorable performance from the Cantores de Cienfuegos with the opportunity to sit down afterward with the musicians to learn more about their lives, their training, and their roles as music professors at area schools. (2:00 pm – 8:00 pm).

Day 6/Thursday, January 26: Day at Sea Enjoy another day at sea and reflect on the unique people you’ve met and experiences you’ve had!

Day 7/Friday, January 27: Havana, Cuba Start your day with a walking tour of where you’ll get acquainted with a town that has excitement around every corner. On today’s walk you will get to take a stroll down the Prado to the Capitol which is almost an exact replica of the one that stands in Washington D.C. Next it’s time to visit Old Havana’s four main squares; Plaza Vieja, San Francisco de Assisi Square, Plaza de Armas and the Cathedral Square.Take a detour through the streets of Central Havana. See sights like the Paseo del Prado, Parque Central, the recently renovated Gran Teatro de La Habana, and the famed Reina Street finally arriving at your final destination, a local community project. Visit Almacenes San José Artisans’ Market, Havana’s largest craft market, which offers a little of everything from clothing and jewelry to ceramics, paintings, and souvenirs. Chat with local vendors and learn how they became masters of their crafts and the benefits it has created for them. A Night in Havana - This evening take some time to explore on your own or sign up for one of our optional evening excursions such as the world famous ‘Tropicana’ extravaganza, the lively and uniquely Cuban Parisien Cabaret at Hotel Nacional, or the nightly cannon ceremony. You can also visit the local restaurants and bars on your own via a short walk or via a ‘classic car’ taxi. (arrive 8:00 am and overnight)

Day 8/Tuesday, January 28: Havana, Cuba Visit the Plaza de la Revolucion, Havana’s largest square and Cuba’s current administrative center. Afterward, a local guide joins you to share the highlights and stories of Latin America’s most important cemetery, the massive baroque- style Cementerio de Cristóbal Colón. Enjoy an authentic home cooked Cuban lunch at one of Cuba’s many family- owned in-home restaurants known as Paladares. Meet the family and learn about their journey to self-employment. Afterward, visit the Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes that exhibits Cuban art collections from the colonial times through today and see why art is considered such an integral and vital part of Cuban culture. This afternoon also provides an optional opportunity to hop in a classic American car as you travel between activities. Interact with your local driver and learn how they keep these beauties up and running and looking like new. Round out the afternoon with a visit to the Colon Cemetery to view the myriad of magnificently sculpted mausoleums and chapels and learn the story behind the most visited tombstone in all of Cuba, that of Amelia Goyri de la Hoz – known to Cubans as “La Milagrosa” (The Miraculous Woman) before returning to the ship. Some tours may also visit the fishing village where Ernest Hemingway lived and wrote the famous novel ‘The Old Man and the Sea’. (Sail at 4:00 pm)

Day 9/Sunday, January 29: Disembarkation and fly home Cruising smoothly into Miami this morning, you disembark then transfer to the airport for your homeward bound flight and transfer back to pick-up points.
