Department of Fire Services Executive Office of Public Safety & Security Fire Service Resource Directory 2018/2019 Compiled as a Public Service in Cooperation with the Massachusetts Property Insurance Underwriting Association Mission Statement The mission of the Department of Fire Services is, through coordinated training, education, prevention, investigation, and emergency response, to provide the citizens of Massachusetts with the ability to create safer communities; to assist and support the fire service community in the protection of life and property; to promote and enhance firefighter safety; and to provide a fire service leadership presence in the Executive Office of Public Safety and Security in order to direct policy and legislation on all fire related matters. Directions to the Department of Fire Services STOW CAMPUS 1 State Road, Stow, MA 01775 From Boston: Follow Massachusetts Turnpike to Route 128 N (follow "from Route 128" below). From Route 128: Take Route 20 West; follow Route 20 to the intersection of Route 27 in Wayland. Turn right onto Route 27 and continue until Route 27 makes a right toward Maynard. DO NOT TURN RIGHT. Continue straight for approximately three miles and DFS will be on your right. From Route 495 North: Take Route 85 (exit 25A) toward Hudson. At the second traffic light, take a left onto Route 85. Take a right onto Broad Street (first street on right next to Tuck's GMC Trucks). At the second set of traffic lights, take a right onto Route 62. Continue straight until Route 62 turns left toward Stow DO NOT TURN LEFT. Continue straight for approximately five miles and DFS will be on your left. From Route 495 South: Take Route 62 East (exit 26) into Hudson Center. Continue half way around the rotary and continue on Route 62 East. Continue straight until Route 62 turns left toward Stow DO NOT TURN LEFT. Continue straight for approximately three miles and DFS will be on your left. 27 126 2 Directions to the Department of Fire Services SPRINGFIELD CAMPUS 100 Grochmal Avenue, Springfield, MA 01151 From the North or South: Take [-91 to the Massachusetts Turnpike (1-90), then follow the directions below From the East and West: Take the Massachusetts Turnpike (1-90) to exit 6. Go straight through the toll booth. At the traffic light, turn left onto [-291 and immediately take the first right on exit 6. Go straight through the first stop light at Fuller Road. At the second light, turn left onto Route 141 (East Main Street which turns into Worcester Road). Continue for one mile then turn left onto Grochmal Avenvue. The campus is less than one-quarter mile on the left.
