3 The Florida State football team has made community service a priority. For the second straight season, the Seminoles registered more than 1,000 hours in 2017-18, tallying 1,480 total volunteer hours. Players volunteered with several organizations including Habitat for Humanity, Leon County Schools, Tallahassee Memorial Hospital and FSU Recycles.

As a junior in 2017 Fredrick Jones led the team with 46 total hours and was named an ACC Top Six for Service recipient. Jones volunteered at various events but contributed most of his hours serving at Grace Mission Episcopal Church.

4 The Musial Awards recognized Travis Rudolph’s inspiring friendship with Bo Paske, a Tallahassee middle schooler with autism that he befriended during a visit to Montford Middle School in August of 2016. Rudolph saw Paske eating by himself, was photographed and the image soon went viral, thanks to Bo’s mother, Leah. When the outpouring of support for the duo went national, Rudolph presented Bo and Leah with a personalized jersey and tickets to the season opener against Ole Miss in Orlando. Both Leah and Bo were on hand when Travis was picked up by the New York Giants as an undrafted free agent. He was one of 11 award winners for Extraordinary Sportsmanship. The Musial Anquan Boldin 2015 Awards are presented by Maryville University Warrick Dunn 2004 and produced by the St. Louis Sports Derrick Brooks 2000 Commission and National Sportsmanship Foundation in honor of longtime Cardinals baseball player Stan Musial.

The Allstate AFCA Good Works Team is one of the most coveted off-the-field honors in , recognizing the finest players in terms of character and leadership in addition to maintaining a good academic standing. Florida State has produced an Allstate AFCA Good Works Team member in the past two seasons. Alec Eberle was recognized for his efforts in 2016 as the head of Florida State’s Uplifting Athletes chapter, which raises money for rare diseases. In 2017, Mavin Saunders was recognized for his work as a mentor at Riley Elementary, where he volunteered twice a week helping students with their studies.

January 1, 1994 | 12-1 n Florida State put an exclamation point on its 1993 season by capturing the program’s first National Championship with a dramatic, 18-16 victory over Nebraska in the Orange Bowl on January 1, 1994. n The Seminoles closed the year with a 12-1 record and Florida State was the first team in eight years to open the season at No. 1 and go on to win the title. n Senior quarterback collected 20 national awards, including the Heisman Trophy, while leading the Seminoles to their long-awaited crown. n FSU led the nation in scoring offense and defense, outscoring their 13 opponents by an average of 34 points per game.

46-29 vs. Virginia Tech | Sugar Bowl | New Orleans, La. January 4, 2000 | 12-0 n The 1999 Florida State football team became the first in the history of the Associated Press poll to go wire-to-wire as the No. 1 team in the nation. The Seminoles completed their 12-0 campaign with a thrilling 46-29 Sugar Bowl victory over Virginia Tech on January 4, 2000. n Not only did coach lead the Seminoles down a path no other team had traveled – wire-to-wire at No. 1 – he also recorded the first perfect season of his career. Along the way, Bowden picked up his 300th career victory.

6 34-31 vs. Auburn | BCS National Championship Game | Pasadena, Calif. January 6, 2014 | 14-0 n Florida State closed out a dominant 14-0 season by defeating No. 2 Auburn 34-31 to win the final BCS National Championship Game. n The Seminoles rallied from 18 points down, trailing 21-3 with 5:01 remaining in the second quarter, and trailed 31-27 with 1:11 left in the game. n Heisman Trophy winner Jameis Winston engineered a seven-play, 80-yard drive that was finished off with his game-winning 2-yard pass to Kelvin Benjamin with 13 seconds remaining that completed the comeback and earned FSU its third national championship. 7,267 Total offensive yards tallied by FSU in 2013 to set new school and ACC records 723 Total points scored in 2013, a new FBS record previously held by Oklahoma’s 2008 team which scored 716 total points 94 scored by Florida State the most in the country and an FSU and ACC record 26 made by the Seminoles, leading the nation in 2013 and breaking the school’s single-season record.

9 For more than 30 years, ESPN’s College GameDay has been the premier college football show on Saturday mornings. College GameDay has featured Florida State 34 times, including at least once in seven of the past nine seasons.

n The Seminoles rank fourth in the country in all-time GameDay appearances (34) and number of times hosted (11). n College GameDay’s first on-campus appearance was for the Florida State- Notre Dame “Game of the Century” in 1993, and this season marks the 25th anniversary of that game with another FSU-ND matchup scheduled for Nov. 10 in South Bend, Ind. n When College GameDay visits Tallahassee, the Seminoles are 7-4 with wins over Notre Dame, Clemson (2), Miami (2) and Florida (2). n ESPN’s production takes place on the newly renovated Langford Green, allowing fans to tailgate and enjoy each other’s company in preparation for the big game.

10 n College GameDay analyst Lee Corso is a Florida State alum and one of the top athletes in FSU history. n Corso joined the College GameDay show at its launch in 1987 and became renowned for his headgear selections at the end of each show. n Corso was a quarterback and cornerback for the Seminoles in mid-50s before launching a coaching career that lasted nearly 30 years. n Nicknamed “The Sunshine Scooter” for his speed on the football field, Corso also played baseball for the Seminoles and was a college roommate of teammate and future movie star Burt Reynolds. n Corso is the only remaining member of the original College GameDay crew and now works with Rece Davis and analysts Kirk Herbstreit and Desmond Howard. Corso is famous for his catchphrase, “Not so fast, my friend!”

n Florida State is routinely one of the most attractive draws for television partners and viewers. n Florida State’s 2017 season opener vs. Alabama in Atlanta’s brand-new Mercedes-Benz Stadium was the most-watched college football kickoff weekend matchup ever with more than 12,000,000 viewers. It was the most-watched non-conference regular season game of 2017 and the highest-rated game all season on ABC. n 2018 marks the seventh Labor Day night appearance for Florida State since 2005, the most Labor Day appearances in the country over the past 15 seasons, and will be the Seminoles’ fifth season opener in primetime in the last six seasons.

11 When the Seminoles opened up the 2016 season, fans were greeted with the tallest video board structure in college football, broadcasting in 1080p true high-definition. The upgraded board is three times larger and twice as high as the old one. The new board stands 63 feet high and is accompanied by new high definition ribbon boards throughout the stadium as well. Overall, 9,908 square feet of LED displays were added to , and there is over 1,000 linear feet of HD LED throughout. Most impressively, every camera transmitting to the video board will be shooting the action in high-definition, giving fans one of the highest-quality pictures in the world.

n Beginning in 2016, Florida State has hosted the Doak After Dark concert series, featuring some of the top names in music playing on the same field as the FSU football team. n Country artists Old Dominion and Tyler Farr kicked off the series in 2016. Blake Shelton and Florida State alum Jake Owen performed in the spring of 2017, and Cole Swindell played Doak after the Delaware State game in November 2017. n In collaboration with an overall “throwback” theme around head coach Willie Taggart’s first Garnet & Gold Spring Game, 1990’s music staples Rob Base, Salt-N-Pepa and Vanilla Ice closed down Doak Campbell Stadium with a performance in front of more than 60,000 fans. n In addition to the Doak After Dark series, Florida State hosts a Friday Night Block Party in CollegeTown just south of the stadium before every home game.
