Instructions to connect to the staff wireless network.
If you have problems connecting your device to the network please call the help desk, fill out a work order or visit your building technician for help.
How to connect an iPhone or iPad:
Click Settings and then Wi-Fi. If you have an existing connection to CFSDStaff click on the blue circle with an i in the middle and click Forget This Network from the menu.
Back at the settings menu, click on CFSDStaff. Enter your network username and password. Do not include the domain name. Your username should look like “smithjd”.
Click Trust at the top of the screen.
You are now connected.
Instructions for a MacBook:
If you are using a MacBook and your domain password has changed you must remove the network first. Remove the network by clicking on the wireless preferences, click Advanced, highlight CFSDStaff and click the minus sign just below the list of networks. Click OK and Apply.
To join the CFSDStaff wireless network click on the wireless icon. Choose the CFSDStaff wireless network and join with your username and password. Accept any certificates required.
Instructions for Windows 7.
Right-click the wireless icon on the taskbar.
Chose Open Network and Sharing Center from the list.
If you have previously connected to the CFSDStaff network, remove it with the Manage wireless networks link on the left side of this page.
Choose set up a new connection or network. Then choose manually connect to a wireless network.
Enter CFSDStaff (case sensitive) in the Network Name box. Select WPA2-Enterprise and make sure the encryption type is AES. Leave the start this connection automatically box checked. Click Next.
Click Change Connection Settings.
Click the Security tab. Click the Settings button. Uncheck the Validate server certificate check box.
In the Select Authentication Method section chose the Configure button. Uncheck the Automatically Use my Windows login name and password.
Click OK on each window and then close.
Your computer should now ask you to log in. Enter your network username and password.
To connect a Chromebook:
Choose CFSDStaff from the list of available networks. Change the EAP method and Server CA certificate to match the image below. Enter your username and password. Check the Save Identity and password box and click Connect.
To connect an Android device:
The exact instructions to join the network will vary slightly depending on the version of your device.
Tap the Menu button on your device and select System Settings/Settings.
Tap Wi-Fi from the Wireless and Networks menu.
You may need to forget the previous wireless connection to CFSDStaff. To forget the network, long-press the CFSDStaff network and tap forget network from the list.
Now add a new network. Make the screen look like the screen below but use your username and password. If you do not select the correct drop down boxes it will not work. Do not include “@chipfalls.org “ in the Identity box. The SSID must be exactly CFSDStaff. It is case sensitive. Your device should connect when finished.
It is not practical to give instructions for every possible device. Generally you want to remove any previous settings, connect to CFSDStaff and ignore certificate errors. You will need to know the following information:
Connection type 802.1x. It is sometimes called WPA2-Enterprise.
Encryption type is AES. Do not select TKIP.
Ignore certificate errors if you have the option.
