SPEAKERS Ally Gray (EmuBands) Twitter: @EmuBands Ally is Managing Director and co-founder of EmuBands, as well as a board member of the Scottish Music Industry Association and a music industry mentor for the Music+ project. As well as digital distribution, Ally has experience in concert promotion and artist management, and regularly lectures at colleges and universities on both the music industry in general and digital distribution specifically. Charlotte Brimner (Be Charlotte) Twitter: @IAmBeCharlotte Be Charlotte is a 19 year old songwriter / producer and performer from Dundee. She uses digital programming and instrumentation to write and perform quirky, meaningful pop music based on story telling from a different perspective from many other pop artists. Her focus is on allowing her music to give voice to her reality, and the songs are an extension of her personality proving that pop music does not necessarily need to be put in a box of cliches. Be Charlotte is one of two artists selected to represent BBC Radio 1 at Eurosonic in The Netherlands as part of her debut European tour. She recently toured in South East Asia and will also be showcasing at South By South West in Austin, Texas as well as The Great Escape in Brighton. Chris Beltran (DF Concerts) Twitter: @Chris__Beltran Chris is a musician, an Assistant Booker at DF Concerts and regional scout for Atlantic Records. His ear is very much to the ground when it comes to under the radar acts in Scotland. As part of the booking team at DF, Chris's job is to book local acts for all the company's shows. He promotes his own shows in King Tut's Wah Wah Hut and programmes the venues Summer Nights and New Year's Revolution Festivals which showcase the countries best in undiscovered and under the radar music. For his age, Chris has had a lot of different experiences in music from touring and performing with bands to writing/producing music for other artists as well as his current work for DF concerts. Jannica Honey (Photographer) Twitter: @jannicahoney Award-winning photographer Jannica Honey, has extensive experience shooting a wide range of subjects in music, arts and fashion. Her work has been published in The Guardian, The List, The Scotsman, The Sunday Herald, Vogue and Dazed & Confused. She has photographed numerous acts including Scottish artists Frightened Rabbit, Emma Pollock, Kathryn Joseph and Young Fathers. Joe Rattray (Synergy Concerts) Twitter: @joerattray Joe has worked professionally as a musician since graduating from Strathclyde’s BA Applied Music course in 2009, playing bass in Scottish band Admiral Fallow and as a session musician for many other artists. In 2014 he joined Synergy Concerts as booking assistant and also works as the in-house venue booker at The Hug and Pint. Maya Medvesek (Nightwave) Twitter: @iamnightwave After moving from her native Ljubljana, Slovenia to Glasgow, via London, in her late teens, Maya Medvesek, better known as Nightwave, has established herself as an internationally renowned DJ, producer, vocalist, club promoter and label boss. On the recording front, as a Red Bull Music Academy alumnus, Nightwave has released across Ministry of Sound, Unknown to the Unknown and Warp, with the BBC Radio 1 playlisted track Surph from Rustie's universally lauded Glass Swords album. Nadine Walker (Tenement TV) Twitter: @nadinettv Nadine is the Editorial Director at Tenement TV and part of the team behind Scotland’s multi-venue music festival Tenement Trail; an independently-run event which sees over 50 bands play 9 venues across one day in Glasgow. Since graduating in journalism in 2012, she has worked on partnerships with T in the Park, Electric Fields and beyond. Nadine has interviewed stars including Nile Rodgers, Kasabian, The Libertines and Bobby Gillespie. PURPOSE OF REPORT 1.1 The purpose of the report is to advise Committee of the external funding secured in 2012/2013 by East Ayrshire Council and locally based organisations within the East Ayrshire area. 2. BACKGROUND 2.1 Members will be aware that at the first meeting of the Grants Committee on 26 February 2013 an annual report detailing the level of funding secured by the Council and other locally based organisation was requested. This report analyses the funding gains achieved by the Council and the funding secured by other organisations in the financial year 2012/2013. 3. ANALYSIS OF FUNDING SECURED BY EAST AYRSHIRE COUNCIL 3.1 The Council receives its main funding from the Scottish Government in the form of Revenue Support Grant (RSG). However this element of funding is not included in this report given that it is provided nationally to all councils based on a prescribed formula. 3.2 This report details the additional external funding which is received from partners and other organisations for specific projects and/or initiatives.These funds can arise following an applicationby the Council or an agreement to participate in specific initiatives or from collaborative working and cost sharingarrangements. 3.3 Analysis of the funding reveals that the total external funding secured by the Council in 2012/13 was £3.392m. This compares to £3.179m received in 2011/12 and details of the type of funding received are provided at Appendix 1.

Taking place on Friday June 19th across 3 ‘stages’, and streamed on livefrom.events, the festival will feature recorded performances by Scottish musicians who have come together to support Scotland's vital grassroots music venues who are facing closure due to Covid-19. The first artists to be announced are KT Tunstall, The Xcerts, Hunter & the Bear, Wet Wet Wet, Be Charlotte, Fatherson, Luke La Volpe, Hue & Cry, Honeyblood and Anchor Lane. Festival host Vic Galloway will also be talking to musicians and venue reps to highlight the synergy between these venues and the artists whose careers they help develop.
