1 W:Wf,s Clan Buchanan Society, International has a Chief for the first time since 1681 One of Scotland's largest and most ancient clans now has a chief for the first time in337 years. The Clan Buchanan will be led by John Michael Baillie-Hamilton Buchanan, who first made his claim to the title more than 20 years ago. The chiefship was last held by John Buchanan until his death with- out a male heir in 1681. The Lord Lyon King of Arms, who is head of the Lyon Court, which regulates Scottish heraldry formally upheld a petition for Mr. Buchanan to assume the chiefship in September of 2018. But after a century or so of search- ing, no one has been able to find inefirtable evidence of any strange creatures lurking in the murky depths of Scotland's Loch Ness. So why would a team of serious genetic scientists decide to head back to the loch in search of the legend? Ask Neil Gemmell, whose Super Natural His- tory Project will do just that early next month.
