Legendarische Whiskyverhalen Gratis Epub, Ebook LEGENDARISCHE WHISKYVERHALEN GRATIS Auteur: John van den Heuvel Aantal pagina's: 158 pagina's Verschijningsdatum: 2007-10-18 Uitgever: Het Spectrum EAN: 9789027464798 Taal: nl Link: Download hier Legendarische Whiskyverhalen - John Van Den Heuvel Reden: 2dehands. THE MYTHOLOGY, TRADITIONS and HISTORY OF MacDHUBHSITH ― MacDUFFIE CLAN (McAfie, McDuffie, MacFie, MacPhee, Duffy, etc.) VOLUME 2 THE LANDS OF OUR FATHERS PART 2 Earle Douglas MacPhee (1894 - 1982) M.M., M.A., M.Educ., LL.D., D.U.C., D.C.L. Emeritus Dean University of British Columbia This 2009 electronic edition Volume 2 is a scan of the 1975 Volume VII. Dr. MacPhee created Volume VII when he added supplemental data and errata to the original 1792 Volume II. This electronic edition has been amended for the errata noted by Dr. MacPhee. - i - THE LIVES OF OUR FATHERS PREFACE TO VOLUME II In Volume I the author has established the surnames of most of our Clan and has proposed the sources of the peculiar name by which our Gaelic compatriots defined us. In this examination we have examined alternate progenitors of the family. Any reader of Scottish history realizes that Highlanders like to move and like to set up small groups of people in which they can become heads of families or chieftains. This was true in Colonsay and there were almost a dozen areas in Scotland where the clansman and his children regard one of these as 'home'. The writer has tried to define the nature of these homes, and to study their growth. It will take some years to organize comparative material and we have indicated in Chapter III the areas which should require research. In Chapter IV the writer has prepared a list of possible chiefs of the clan over a thousand years. The books on our Clan give very little information on these chiefs but the writer has recorded some probable comments on his chiefship.

  • Clan Home Gathering 2018
CLAN HOME GATHERING AUGUST 2018 The Clan Home Association is pleased to announce that the next Clan Gathering will take place in Berwickshire around the weekend of 11th-12th August 2018. The dates selected mean that Clan members, family and friends, can, if they wish, join in the activities of the Coldstream Civic Week before the Gathering and go on to the Edinburgh Festival in the week following. Figure 1 - Wedderburn Castle The organisers of the Coldstream Civic Week are very excited at the prospect of many Homes, Humes and others associated with the Clan combining with them to celebrate their Civic Week. 1 Figure 2 - Duns Castle The plan is to base the Gathering at the magnificent Wedderburn Castle, as in 2013, but also, on the assumption the numbers will justify, to use the wonderful facilities at the neighbouring Duns Castle. Given that the organisers propose an even more ambitious programme than in 2013, the aim is to make use of the next fifteen months to build interest in the events so that a record number attend the 2018 Gathering. This would of course require more facilities to be available for use by attendees. Those who would like to stay at Wedderburn Castle or Duns Castle are invited to contact the Clan Association to register an interest. Rooms will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. At present the CHA expects Wedderburn to be rented for three nights, starting 10th August, and Duns for six nights, starting from the evening of Tuesday 7th August. 2 The Association plans are still being developed, but the current thinking is that the Gathering will start formally on Wednesday 8th August with a day given over to Genealogical matters.
