As part of its response through the Foundation’s Coronavirus Response and Recovery Fund it has also awarded a number of Strategic Response Grants up to £20,000 to help deal with some of the emerging underlying issues and problems whilst keeping especially vulnerable residents safe and well. Rachel McGrath, Deputy CEO of the Foundation, said: “Whereas our crisis response grants are responding to the needs of vulnerable residents directly with things like food aid, shopping deliveries and befriending services, the purpose of the strategic response grants is to support larger co-ordinated partnership activity in local areas which are also tackling some of the underlying causes or barriers in order to respond more effectively to address local need.
