Paramanathan, who was working in the Herat province, was abducted in October last year. According to reports, Afghanistan’s investigating agencies who were pursuing the case, have informed the Indian Embassy in Kabul that the hostage was no more alive. It is not clear whether his body has been retrieved by the Afghan authorities.
