April 29, 2014, the election of 84 new members, and 21 foreign Vincent Poor; Montserrat associates from 15 countries, in recognition of their distinguished Fuentes and continuing achievements in original research. Among those elected is IMS President and Fellow Bin Yu, 3 IMS Carver Award: Edward who is Chancellor’s Professor in the departments of statistics Waymire and of electrical engineering and computer science, at the 4 IMS-ASC Sydney meeting University of California, Berkeley. The following issues were covered: • Scotland and the EU • Currency & Banking and Financial Services • Taxation and Spending • Defence and International Relations • The Economy • Culture and Broadcasting • Borders, Immigration and Citizenship • Science & Higher Education • Welfare & Public Services The book, with an introduction by Professor Alan Alexander, General Secretary of the RSE and Professor Iain MacLean, Vice-President of the British Academy, runs to more than 250 pages across ten chapters, and has been made available free of charge, in order to share it with as many people as possible. The immediate public response was overwhelming. -

Cindy Sterling is the founder and president of Sterling Financial Planning, a fee-only financial planning firm in New York City. She is also a consultant with Washburn & McGoldrick, advising educational institutions on advancement and philanthropy since 2000. She earned both her bachelor’s degree in economics and master’s degree in psychological services at the University of Pennsylvania. She also holds the chartered financial consultant designation from the American College of Financial Services and is a registered life planner from the Kinder Institute.
