About Antah Schindler Schindler’s presence in Malaysia started back in the fifties when Harrison Lister Engineering Company became an agent after the end of World War II. Subsequently in 1974, Schindler Lift (M) Sdn Bhd was set up and took over the elevator business. Ten years later, Antah Holdings Bhd and Jardine Schindler Pacific BV entered into a joint- venture through Schindler Lifts (M) Sdn Bhd. Today the wholly owned subsidiary of that partnership, Antah Schindler Sdn Bhd, is an authorized distributor and service provider for Schindler elevators and escalators for the whole of Malaysia.
Since Antah Schindler’s inception, the company has been involved in the design, supply, installation, modernization, maintenance and repair of Schindler lifts and escalators found in many buildings for both the public and private sectors. Schindler innovative mobility solutions is currently operating in hospitals, airports, government buildings, offices, condominiums, shopping malls, factories and many other areas throughout Malaysia. Antah Schindler continue to provide the highest standard of maintenance service and the ever reliable 24 hours support ensure peace of mind for users of the thousands of elevators and escalators throughout Malaysia.

Safety always has been, and always will be our prime objective and guiding principle.
End user comfort and safety is Schindler's primary concern in the design, manufacture, installation and maintenance of its products. We carry out systematic, rigorous checks during installation, at handover of every elevator, escalator or moving walk to our customers, and throughout every piece of equipment’s long working life. Schindler ensures that all products and services worldwide conform to clearly established requirements, country-specific laws, regulations and norms. Schindler employees undergo regular safety training and are required to take wide-ranging safety precautions to minimize the risk of accidents at work.
Safety is our first priority Antah Schindler has always been concerned with safety issues to the point of obsession. It is part of the Swiss tradition. Antah Schindler aims to exceed even the strictest of code requirements in its drive to support the installed equipment. There are no big secrets to lift and escalator safety and no short-cuts either. Safety for every passenger comes from well- designed and manufactured equipment, properly installed and maintained by qualified personnel.
With an employee pool in excess of 1000 personnel, we are poised provide the best maintenance and care for the elevators and escalators. Stringent reviews with continuous training both in the class room and on the job ensure our employees continually equipped to provide the best level of service and highest safety standards.

Our Quality
Quality is one of the top priority for Antah Schindler Malaysia; it is also one of Schindler’s core values besides Safety, Integrity & Trust, People Development and Values for Customer. Schindler Malaysia has been certified to ISO 9001 requirements for more than 10 years.
With the current certification of ISO 9001:2008 requirements, a dedicated team has been appointed to ensure effective implementation of Quality Management System nationwide where consistent internal audits are conducted at least once in a year for key operations like New Installation, Existing Installation & Modernization. Frequent internal audits are also conducted for operations with higher risk to customer satisfaction and in branches with bigger operation capacity.
Throughout 2017, the QA team is currently updating its Quality Management System to certify to ISO 9001:2015 requirements. The team is now gearing towards latest certification requirements which will be held in mid of January 2018. Since the organization is also certified to ISO 14001 & OHSAS 18001 requirements, the top management is planning to consolidate all its management systems into integrated management systems by 2020.
On top of Management Systems, Schindler has taken a step forward to strengthen its operational excellence by localizing and implementing headquarters’ QA processes into New Installation Operations. Fulfilment Plus (FF+) and Top Range Excellence (TREx) Project Management System requirements were implemented in stages beginning 2015 for both small and large projects to standardize methods, simplify processes and drive efficiency across the organization.
The organization also believes that solid QA System is required to ensure quality is not compromised with the rapid growth of the business. The top management has fully supported the intention of QA team to modernized conventional methods / systems to e-systems to improve efficiency, productivity & accessibility. The team has successfully modernized three QA methods / systems in 2017 and assured to continue this effort in the future.

We structure our business with the view of establishing a long term business partnership with our clients throughout the life time of the elevator, escalators and moving walks. Having laboriously built the brand personality of our products, we aim to deliver consistent quality at reasonable price. Optimum maintained equipment upholds the image and value of the property of our clients. For an added reassurance and peace of mind, all our products maintained by us are covered by a Public/Product Liability Insurance.
We use only genuine and accredited spare parts for all elevator, escalators and moving walks maintained by us. We readily maintain stock of spare parts on our shelves, with support of our Regional Distribution Centre for immediate repair and replacement need. Additional support on equipment parts and components are also available from regional operating companies of Jardine Schindler Group in Southeast Asia. This ensures downtime, if any, are kept to the minimum.

Jardine Schindler employees shall maintain the highest standards of professional and personal conduct in their relationships with customers, fellow colleagues, suppliers, competitors, governments and communities.
Jardine Schindler’s employees must therefore:-

At Schindler, we understand customer experience has become the differentiator in the world where competition is no longer simply about product and price.
Customer Excellence Programme was introduced to drive a customer centric culture at Schindler and one of the core activities is conducting customer satisfaction survey that allows us to measure our customer satisfaction level and drive improvements.
Schindler call centre operates 24/7, providing support on equipment with coverage for whole of Malaysia. With the information reported from the call, technical support will be assigned and despatched promptly, according to the geographical areas.
The job ticket will be sent automatically to the technicians with smartphone device via custom applications FieldLink. Diagnosis collected from the job ticket will be analysed for further enhancement.

Our story The establishement of Antah Schindler Training Centre centrered around our aspiration to groom and develop world class Malaysian talents, producing a highly-qualified sustainable workforce. It is a professional training centre aimed develop and improve the skills and capabilities of our technicians and local sub-contractors by providing a structured approach in Quality Training and Certification. Along with our dedicated training courses, we focus on developing various aspects of industry-ready techinician including technical and safety know- how, soft and communication skills.
Antah Schindler Training Centre reflects our core values of Quality, Safety and People Development and will be a game changer in the industry to cement our position in Malaysia as the leading provider of safe and reliable vertical transportation.
Our facilities The training centre comprises of training elevator shafts, escalator, multiple lift and Schindler’s PORT simulators, fully equipped class rooms and meeting rooms.
Our course Technician Apprenticeship Program
Technician Apprenticeship Program (TAP) is a 3 years training course seeks to educate and train a budding workforce for the company’s future development by collaborating with the Selangor Human Resources Development Centre (SHRDC). The first 2 years, students will work as well as attend classes, and the last year will see them on-the-job training fully with Antah Schindler.

The partnership with SHRDC will assist the students to upgrade their technical skills offered through classes at SHRDC premises together with practical experience on the job at Antah Schindler. Students will be trained by an experienced, internationally certified master trainers to carry out installation, testing, commissioning and to maintain by emphasizing defects prevention in Schindelr’s latest generation in the market. Other programs available: Field Engineering Development Program, Graduate Trainee Program and etc.

Aiming High at Schindler
Our business core competence is in engineering services. In promising to provide safe and reliable transportation through our innovative products and technology, we have to ensure we deliver on our promises in NI and EI to all customers. This can only be achieved through a skilled and competent field workforce, motivated to deliver NI and EI services at a level that will optimize the benefits of our products and technology, supported by functional departments.
Field Engineering Development Program (FEDP) The Field Engineer Development Program (FEDP) is a program that aims to build technical competencies and know-how across ASM where to support both New Installation (NI) and Existing Installation (EI) operations.
It is a 24 months on-the-job training that allow participants to be able to quickly develop their technical expertise. After completion of the program, FEDP graduate will then in turn share his/her knowledge with colleagues in the field. They are targeted to be successors for technical managers for the purpose of resource pipeline. There are regular development reviews and tests conducted by the supervisors, coaches, mentors to assess FEDP’s progress and Training Centre also one of the key check poins to ensures they are on track.
Graduate Trainee Program (GTP) The Graduate Trainee Program has five streams- Project, Sales, Services, Technical and Human Resource department. It is a 18 months on-the-job training with rotation basis to various departments for business exposure and acumen. The learning modules revolves around leadership development. Post programs, the GT graduate will then be absorbed by the respective departments and continue their career progression in Antah Schindler. The aim of the program is to build a pool of young talented business leaders and competent in Schindler’s products and technologies.

Technician Apprentice Program (TAP) The objective of Technician Apprentice Program is to build a pool of certified fitters and technicians in New Installation (NI) and Existing Installation (EI) operations in 36 months. The program is a collaboration between ASM and Selangor Human Resource Development Centre (SHRDC) under Workforce Technical Transformation Program (WTTP).
It combined of work-based training which is 12 months of classroom learnings at SHRDC and 24 months On-Job Training at ASM, thus it will expose of work life environment during studies. After completion of the program, the apprentices will be certified as Certified Fitter and Certified Technician (Green Belt Level) according to Schindler Technician Certification based on their skills and quality of works.
Technical Installation Program (TIP) It is a 12 months full work-based training program at ASM jobsites where apprentices are required to install product line of S3300 and/or S5500. The objective of program is to build a pool of certified field fitters in New Installation (NI) in 12 months time. During the 12 months, they shall learn about Schindler business, products, process and customer orientation.
It is a program emphasizes more on products and processes, as it is geared towards building field technical expertise. The apprentices will also learn safety procedures, safety precaution and personal protective equipment and build the safety behavior in line with the Company Safety Policy. After completion of program, apprentices will be certified as a Certified Fitter in either S3300 or S5500 product lines according to Schindler Technician Certification.
Technical Maintenance Program (TMP) Objective of Technical Maintenance Program is to build a pool of certified field technicians in Existing Installation (EI) in 12 months. It is a collaboration between ASM and Selangor Human Resource Development Centre (SHRDC) under Perbadanan Tabung Pembangunan Kemahiran (PTPK).
It consists of 3 months classroom learnings at SHRDC, and 9 months On-the-job training at ASM hence the apprentices will have hands-on experience on repair and service maintenance works as well as practice CPSI (Confirmation of Periodic Safety Inspection). By completion of this program, the apprentices will be certified as a Certified Technician (minimum Yellow Belt Level) as per Schindler Technician Certification syallabus.

Advanced Technician Development Program (ATDP) – MEISTER Program This is a 2 year work and learn program that students will graduate as full-fledged Advanced Technicians. It is a combination of work-based training where it consists of 12 months of classroom learnings at SHRDC and 12 months on-the-job training at ASM.
During the 24 months program, one shall learn about Schindler businesses, products and processes as well as to train on technical expertises include hands-on experience in new lift installation, testing and commissioning work and progress to service a lift. Students will be certified as Certified Fittesr in Schindler new product lines as per Schindler Technician Certification after completion of program.
Professional Engineer (Ir) A personal coaching program for ASM employees who is interested to register as a Professional Engineer (Ir) with Board of Engineer Malaysia (BEM). The entire program will be conducted by ASM in-house Professional Engineer (Ir).
Lift Competent Person (Grade 1,2 and 3) It is a collaboration program with Malaysia Lift & Escalator Association (MALEA) to train and examine the qualified lift person to be a lift competent Grade 3 holder under JKKP legislation; the objective is to has handful of lift competent person of Grade 1, 2 and 3 in ASM.
