Subsequently in 1974, Schindler Lift (M) Sdn Bhd was set up and took over the elevator business. Ten years later, Antah Holdings Bhd and Jardine Schindler Pacific BV entered into a joint- venture through Schindler Lifts (M) Sdn Bhd. Today the wholly owned subsidiary of that partnership, Antah Schindler Sdn Bhd, is an authorized distributor and service provider for Schindler elevators and escalators for the whole of Malaysia. End user comfort and safety is Schindler's primary concern in the design, manufacture, installation and maintenance of its products. We carry out systematic, rigorous checks during installation, at handover of every elevator, escalator or moving walk to our customers, and throughout every piece of equipment’s long working life. Schindler ensures that all products and services worldwide conform to clearly established requirements, country-specific laws, regulations and norms. Schindler employees undergo regular safety training and are required to take wide-ranging safety precautions to minimize the risk of accidents at work. Schindler Malaysia has been certified to ISO 9001 requirements for more than 10 years. With the current certification of ISO 9001:2008 requirements, a dedicated team has been appointed to ensure effective implementation of Quality Management System nationwide where consistent internal audits are conducted at least once in a year for key operations like New Installation, Existing Installation & Modernization. Frequent internal audits are also conducted for operations with higher risk to customer satisfaction and in branches with bigger operation capacity. Throughout 2017, the QA team is currently updating its Quality Management System to certify to ISO 9001:2015 requirements. The team is now gearing towards latest certification requirements which will be held in mid of January 2018. Since the organization is also certified to ISO 14001 & OHSAS 18001 requirements, the top management is planning to consolidate all its management systems into integrated management systems by 2020.
