The sessions will mix group learning time with family activities, where young people will learn about handling peer pressure, recognising and appreciating the feelings of others, and how to set personal goals, to encourage success when they move on to secondary school. Description of Our Lady’s Primary School was built in 1968 and is situated in a large, Role & Remit grassy area in close proximity to the Parish Church, Our Lady of Lourdes. Classrooms are spacious and bright and there is a happy, friendly atmosphere which helps in the growth and development of the children during Nursery and Primary school life. If your children are happy to come to school then learning is much easier.

Through this environment, we want to produce happy, responsible, caring children, encouraging self-respect, respect for others, self discipline and independence. We aim to ensure an all-round development of the children not only physically and intellectually but also spiritually, emotionally, socially and morally, through an awareness of the individual child’s needs and interests. Above all, we want our pupils to have ambition to realise their potential and to achieve this aim, it is important to have the co-operation of parents in which a positive working relationship can best meet the needs of children.

We welcome parents at all times and we encourage parents to come and meet with the Head Teacher or Depute Head Teacher to discuss their child’s education and well being. Phone or e-mail to make an appointment, or drop in to check on what time/date is best.

Our Lady’s is part of the North Perth Integrated Community School initiative and consequently have access to an inter-agency team of staff including a Community Link Worker.

There are five investigators whose remit is to address serious anti-social and residential behaviour. The investigators can also be called upon to attend and assess other types of noise nuisance of a more commercial or industrial basis e.g. noise from building sites or licensed premises, reporting their findings back to Environmental Health Officers.

The investigators operate principally within the parameters of the Anti- Social Behaviour (Scotland) Act 2004 in relation to serious or protracted anti-social behaviour and in addition they investigate complaints concerning noise nuisance within a residential setting as detailed within Part V of the aforementioned legislation.

The investigator’s expertise is available to anyone within Perth and Kinross regardless of tenure with the aim of being able to resolve the behaviour and reduce the noise levels should such be in excess of the permitted level as defined by statute. Every effort is taken to resolve the problem or issue without recourse to the more draconian measures available to the officers, therefore a key part of the process involved is of early intervention where possible.

In order to successfully prosecute anti-social behaviour and / or noise nuisance the Safer Communities Investigators employ other service providers as needed to achieve a suitable resolution. Such inter-agency work can and often does include, Police Scotland, Mediation Services, other Housing Associations, Victim Support and other in-house services.

Description of What we do? Role & Remit The Family Nurse Partnership is a Tayside wide service available for first time parents. We introduce a strength based approach to care with first time parents focussed on supporting them to build their own skills and resources to parent their child well and also to think about their own future aspirations.

The programme's main aims are to improve maternal health, child health and development, and family economic self-sufficiency.

The programme is delivered by highly trained nurses (Family Nurses). It begins in early pregnancy (before 28+6 weeks) and lasts until the child reaches two. During the antenatal period, maternity care is delivered by midwives, including screening and core antenatal appointments. The FNP programme during pregnancy is delivered by the Family Nurse. Once the baby is born the Family Nurse then delivers the programme and the universal health visiting pathway in a seamless manner. When the child reaches their second birthday arrangements are made to transfer the families care to the local health visiting team. Clients feedback that they really value having one consistent person visiting them at home. To be eligible for the programme, clients must be living within the Tayside boundaries

Clients must also:

 Be 19 years or under at the start of their pregnancy  or be 20-24 years old with additional identified needs (please call to discuss)  Below 28+6 weeks gestation of pregnancy  First pregnancy (still eligible if previous pregnancy loss)  Plans to keep their baby with them following birth  How to notify us of a client?  If you feel a client would benefit from the service, please contact the FNP team to notify/discuss on the above contact  Clients are also notified to the FNP Service through maternity booking systems

It focuses on enhancing cooking skills and incorporates interactive food related activities to inform participants about healthy eating on a budget. The aim of Community Cookit is to increase the reach of public health nutrition messages and add value to food and cooking work in the community.

To run groups and become a Community Cookit coach, training has been developed. 41/2 days of training includes gaining both the REHIS Food and Health and the Elementary Food Hygiene Certificate followed by 2 ½ days Community Cookit Coach training. This provides a basic level of nutrition knowledge and guidance on how to use the many activities provided as part of the resource kit, “The C.A.N. Cook Kit”.

There are many organisations already undertaking community food skills work and we would welcome the opportunity to support them to provide a consistent approach to key nutrition.

As part of our service we also deliver Maternal and Infant Nutrition training. This 2 day training programme covers maternal nutrition, breastfeeding, formula feeding, weaning and eating well for the under 5’s.

Youth Clubs SHIP runs three youth clubs for children and young people with additional support needs each week in Perth and one in Aberfeldy. The groups are split by needs and interests of the young people although an age indication is given. Social inclusion is very much a priority and our children are always matched up 1:1 with volunteers who support them.

It is designed to be as flexible as possible, so that all young people can benefit from it regardless of their confidence in groups or academic ability.
