This is the second record for Mariaplax Rahayu and Ng from the Pleistocene deposits of Japan. Hexapus anfractus (Rathbun) recorded from the Holocene Nanyo Formation is re-evaluated and identified with the extant species, Mariaplax chenae Rahayu and Ng. Moloha alisae is reported from South Africa for the first time. Milano, 151 (I): 51-75, Gennaio 2010 Antonio De Angeli *, Danièle Guinot ** & Alessandro Garassino *** New hexapodid crabs from the Eocene of Vicenza (NE Italy) (Crustacea, Decapoda, Brachyura, Hexapodidae) Abstract - The Hexapodidae was known to date from the Cenozoic of Veneto by Stevea cesarii Beschin, Busulini, De Angeli & Tessier, 1994, from the middle Eocene of Chiampo Valley (Vicenza), and Palaeopinnixa sp. from the upper Eocene of Possagno (Treviso). Recent discoveries from the Eocene of Vicenza area allowed to describe three new genera and four new species of hexapodids. Bellhexapus granulatus n. gen., n. sp., Eohexapus albertii n. gen., n. sp., and Eurohexapus lobatus n. gen., n. sp. from the middle Eocene of “Albanello” quarry at Nogarole Vicentino (Vicenza), and Palaeopinnixa alontensis n. sp. from the upper Eocene of Alonte (Vicenza). Bellhexapus granulatus n. gen., n. sp. and Eurohexapus lobatus n. gen., n. sp. preserve the carapace, the ventral and abdominal male parts, while Eohexapus albertii n. gen., n. sp. preserves the carapace, the ventral and abdominal female parts. Riassunto - Nuovi crostacei hexapodidi dell’Eocene di Vicenza (NE Italia) (Crustacea, Decapoda, Brachyura, Hexapodidae). La famiglia Hexapodidae era fi nora conosciuta nel Terziario del Veneto con Stevea cesarii Beschin, Busulini, De Angeli & Tessier, 1994 dell’Eocene medio della Valle del Chiampo (Vicenza) e Palaeo- pinnixa sp. dell’Eocene superiore di Possagno (Treviso). Recenti ritrovamenti nelle rocce eoceniche del Vicentino hanno permesso di descrivere tre nuovi generi e quattro nuove specie di hexapodidi. -

ABSTRACT Th e hexapodid genus Paeduma Rathbun, 1897 (replacement name for Amorpho- pus Bell, 1859) was established without fi gure for a species from an unknown locality, P. cylindraceum (Bell, 1859) (described as Amorphopus cylindraceus Bell, 1859). Paeduma cylindraceum was never reported ever since, and the holotype was considered lost. Th e examination of the holotype of Paeduma cylindraceum permits to know its provenance (the Galápagos Islands or alternatively some- KEY WORDS where on American Pacifi c coast) and the exact nature of the supposedly rudi- Crustacea, mentary fi fth ambulatory leg (P5) described by Bell (1859). Th e “rudiment” Decapoda, Brachyura, is in fact the external and exposed portion of the apodeme of P4 and not an Hexapodidae, “aborted” pereopod. Th e two other species subsequently attributed to Paeduma Amorphopus, Paeduma, are referred to Hexalaughlia n. gen. A new diagnosis for Paeduma is provided, Stevea, and the status of the extant and fossil Stevea Manning & Holthuis, 1981 is Hexalaughlia n. gen., re-considered. Evaluation of Paeduma has prompted some new views on the vestigial coxa, male gonopore, family Hexapodidae, and the presence for the fi rst time of two genera of the new genus. -

Hexapinus patuma, new species, is morphologically close to H. latus Rahayu & Ng, 2014, but can be distinguished by the structures of the carapace and third maxilliped, as well as the degree of setation of ambulatory legs. E-mail: [email protected] Abstract The male of Hexapinus latipes (De Haan, 1835), so far known only from female specimens, is described based on the material reported by De Man (1888) as “Hexapus sexpes”. Material referred to “Hexapus sexpes” by Tesch (1918) is shown instead to belong to Hexapinus simplex Rahayu & Ng, 2014, and Hexapinus latus Rahayu & Ng, 2014, while his “Hexaplax megalops Doflein, 1904” belongs to Hexaplax aurantium Rahayu & Ng, 2014. A new species, Mariaplax aspera n. sp., is described from a female collected in Lombok, Indonesia. This new species most closely resembles M. narusei Rahayu & Ng, 2014, described from Japan, but differs by its relatively narrower carapace, shorter ambulatory legs, tuberculated third maxillipeds, and shorter telson.
