Consultant in psychiatry combined with clinical professor and chair at Aarhus University, Denmark A position as consultant in psychiatry is vacant at the Department for Depression and Anxiety Disorders Q, Aarhus University Hospital Risskov. The vacant position is part of a combined post as professor and consultant. The time is allocated with 50 % to clinical (consultant) and 50 % to university (professor) duties. Aarhus University Hospital Risskov consists of the following specialized departments: Department for Organic Psychiatric Disorders and Acute Functioning M; Department for Psychosis and Schizophrenia P; Department for Depression and Anxiety Disorders Q; Department for Forensic Psychiatry, and Centre for Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. Furthermore a Translational Neuropsychiatric Research Unit is connected to the Hospital. Department for Depression and Anxiety Q comprise of four in-patient wards (17 beds each) and four specialized out-patient clinics: Clinic for Mania and Depression; Clinic for OCD- Anxiety Disorders and Prevention of Suicidal Behaviour; Clinic for Personality Disorders, and Clinic for PTSD and Transcultural Psychiatry. The Department employs 18 speciality doctors in psychiatry, 12-19 psychiatry trainees and 37 psychologists. The Department Q is jointly headed by the lead clinical consultant psychiatrist and the head nurse. As a consultant, the applicant will employ as consultant with special responsibilities and will refer to the joint heads of Department with primary reference to the lead clinical consultant. Clinical obligations: • Professional team leadership. • Diagnostic assessment and treatment planning at the highest professional level, and according to formal clinical guidelines. • To support and extend the well established and dynamic teaching culture of the Department, through offering teaching and supervision of doctors, medical students and other professional groups. The area of clinical speciality will be negotiated between the successful applicant and the heads of Department. Qualifications: • The applicant must hold a certificate of completion of training (CCT) in psychiatry and be registered to practice as a consultant in psychiatry. • The applicant should hold clinical qualifications within the speciality of general psychiatry and document specialist interest in affective disorders as well as other of Department Q’s sub-specialities. • A high level of professional skills and expertise within his or her area of interest. • A documented international research and publication record. • Academic integrity, high ethical standards and openness The appointment as consultant psychiatrist will follow the Agreement on Medical Managers.
